Owls You need on a Tablescape for Fall

August 22, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I am repeating an owl themed tablescape that I did three years ago but I have made some changes to this one. I found the beige tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. It has a slight brown tweed design and I like using it on Fall tablescapes. I have used the color combination of brown, green, and beige before on tablescapes during the fall and winter seasons. You can see them and 270+ other tablescapes that I have done (I create a new one every week) on my blog here: https://www.whispersoftheheart.com/tablescapes

I found these UPware Owl Shaped Melamine Salad Plates on Amazon. When I saw them I knew that they would be a perfect match to the large ceramic owl that I have. I love the large eyes.

I bought these Cambria sage green stoneware dinner plates at Pottery Barn several years ago. I think this color has been discontinued although they have a pretty deep green color one now. This plate is large enough that I sometimes use it as a charger.

These bronze hammered charger plates came from Williams Sonoma several years ago. I really like the hammered design and they are a nice weight. To read about what you should be considering when you are buying chargers click here. You can really see the tweed design in the tablecloth in this photo.

This flatware is a smoky brown color. The camera makes them look darker in color than they really are. The handles are some kind of plastic material. They are marked SR Showroom Italy. The set was made by Zaffiro and I think I bought it on sale online at Horchow several years ago. The color is called Smoky and it looks like this pattern has been discontinued. I really liked the simple design on this flatware set so I bought the set in a few other colors as well. It is 18/10 stainless and a nice heavy set. The flatware pieces are really longer in length than normal flatware. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

I have had these flannel plaid napkins for several years and I can’t remember where they came from. It was probably Pier 1 or HomeGoods. I have used them on tablescapes for fall and winter in the past. They have that kind of vibe. I found the owl ceramic napkin rings on Ebay. I was surprised to find several different owl designs there.

These small owls are actually napkin rings but when I saw them on Etsy I knew that they would work as place card holders too. To read about the What, Where and When of place card holders, please click here.

I set the owls on a clear glass square Oleg Cassini place card holder that I use often for that purpose. I found them years ago at Home Goods.

The acrylic sage green goblet on the left came from our Pier 1 store before it closed several years ago. Hubby found the green glass goblet on the right at an estate sale a few years ago. I think they were hand blown in Mexico. I joined estatesales.net and estatesales.org and I get emails every week that tell me what estate sales are going on in my area and it includes photos of everything that is for sale. I saw these green goblets for sale and he got them for me, he likes going to estate sales. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

Hubby found this owl figure at an estate sale a few years ago. He loves to go to estate sales and he often finds tablescaping goodies for me. I was delighted to see it, I knew I had found a great owl centerpiece. It is marked Andrea by Sadek. I love the expression in the eyes and all the detail.

This owl salt and pepper set came from Cracker Barrel online a few years ago.
