Bunnies and Chicks on an Easter Tablescape

April 02, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I wasn’t planning to set another Easter tablescape this year but the kids have gotten their vaccines and one of our sons and his family are coming for Easter dinner so I knew I’d better have an Easter tablescape ready! I pulled this one together really fast. I have boxes of Easter decorations in the attic but I didn’t want to take the time to pull them down and go through them so I made do. We are eating family style with the food on the table instead of a buffet so I needed a simple centerpiece that could easily be removed. The tablecloth probably came from HomeGoods some years ago.

2021.04.02.jpg

I found this set of Easter salad plates with vintage graphics at HomeGoods last month. They were made by Mr. Christmas. I was going to use them next year but oh well! They came as a set of four with four different designs so I bought two sets so that I would have six for a tablescape. I used three of the designs on this tablescape. I love the designs, they look like they came from a vintage Easter children’s book. This bunny with the bow and the flower is so cute!

2021.04.02k.jpg

This duckie holding a tulip is darling! I love his little outfit and bow tie. I love the pink scalloped rim around the plates too.

2021.04.02a.jpg

These plates are so darn cute! Love the bonnet and bows!

2021.04.02b.jpg

This is a Fiesta dinner plate and the color is Shamrock. If you read my blog you have seen this plate before. They came from Macy’s or the Fiesta site online. I have Fiesta plates in several colors and I often use them on my tablescapes.

2021.04.02c.jpg

This is a Color Spectrum charger by Mikasa, the color is Sun Yellow. I bought these chargers on Ebay a few at a time because I love the quality and the colors. I have them in several colors now and you will often see them on my tablescapes.

2021.04.02d.jpg

This flatware is called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market several years ago. If you google frosted flatware and add the color you are looking for you will find similar sets. I use this flatware often in the Spring and Fall.

2021.04.02e.jpg

I found these metal bunny napkin rings last month online on Postmark and then added a couple more from Ebay. I bought the napkins on Etsy a couple years ago.

2021.04.02f.jpg

I have had these cute bunny and egg place card holders for several years. A reader tells me they came from Pier 1 originally, I had forgotten that.

2021.04.02j.jpg
2021.04.02g.jpg

The green plastic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 several years ago. The yellow goblet on the right was made by Noritake and the pattern was called Yellow Perspective. These were made between 1970 and 1983 and I found them on Ebay. This pattern came in other colors, I have them in cobalt blue and sage green also. Ebay often has this pattern for sale in various colors. If you read my blog you saw these goblets on my Yellow Chick Easter tablescape two weeks ago.

2021.04.02h.jpg

Because the salad plates had a vintage look I really wanted a vintage looking centerpiece. I knew I probably had something in the attic that would work but I didn’t have time to search. I was running out of time. I had seen this book shaped box at HomeGoods a couple weeks ago and had passed on it and I decided to go back and get it because it had a vintage look to it. I didn’t realize until I set the table that it matches one of the plate designs!

2021.04.02i.jpg

I was looking through my tea light cupboard and found these Easter egg candles and added them to the tablescape at the last minute. I can’t remember where they came from. They have glitter on them and I never buy anything with glitter on it, I hate glitter! It gets everywhere!

Birds on a Spring Tablescape

March 26, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

This is a Spring tablescape that I did a few years ago but the photos I took then weren’t very good. I have been wanting to set it again so I did it with a few changes. I have had the tablecloth and matching napkins for several years, I can’t remember where they came from, although since it is a matching set it was probably a retail store like Macys or Bed, Bath & Beyond. I love birds and I have two bird baths in my back yard. (A good thing to remember, if you have small birds, they need to be able to stand in the middle of the bird bath easily. It needs to be really shallow.) I have had as many as twelve birds standing on the edge or taking a bath at the same time, they are so fun to watch! I think they all live in a neighbor’s giant bottle brush tree. I keep crossed my fingers that they never cut it back!

IMG_3413 (2).JPG

I love this blue and white porcelain plate set. It is perfect for a Spring tablescape. I love that the design covers the entire plate and I love the rim design as well. It is fun to use a plate that isn’t round for a change too. The blue is a blue gray and it is difficult to match but variety is the spice of life! The plates were made by 222 Fifth (PTS International) and the pattern was called Adelaide Blue. It came in several other colors as well. I bought the first few at HomeGoods several years ago and then filled in the rest of the set on Ebay. I often do that when HomeGoods doesn’t have the number I need but I always check Ebay or google them before I buy to make sure that I can get more.

IMG_3414 (2).JPG

The dinner plate design is similar to the salad plate except it has more white space without the design. This dinner plate is large, 11” by 11” so the charger had to be even larger.

IMG_3415 (2).JPG

I bought the square white chargers online at a restaurant supply store some years ago but I can’t remember where. They were made by Core Dinnerware and the pattern was Acopa. If you are looking for plates with a basic design, an online restaurant suppy store is a good source but you will have to buy in quantity. Dollar stores are a better source for basic plates.

IMG_3416 (2).JPG

This is probably one of the prettiest stainless flatware sets that I own. I absolutely love the different delicate bird and flower designs on each handle. It is called Audubon by Ricci Silversmiths. I bought it online at Horchow a few place settings at a time over several months some years ago. It is 18/10 and great quality

IMG_3417 (2).JPG
IMG_3418 (2).JPG

You can see the raised tweed like design on the tablecloth and napkins in this photo. The white bird napkin rings came from Houzz online a few years ago and they were made by Design Imports.

IMG_3428 (002).jpg
IMG_3419 (2).JPG

I found the white bird place card holders online at Wayfair a few years ago. One would think white birds would not be that difficult to find but I looked for a long time!

IMG_3422 (2).JPG
IMG_3420 (2).JPG

I have very very tall white goblets but I had been looking for shorter ones for a long time. I finally found these white goblets at Walmart online a few years ago. They were made by Artland and the pattern is called Veranda. I bought the blue goblets on Ebay, you can still find them for sale there. They were made by Libbey in the 1970’s and the pattern is Tulip in Dusky Blue. They actually are a bit lighter blue gray than this photo shows.

IMG_3421 (2).JPG

I found this bird cookie jar at HomeGoods some years ago. This bird is usually sitting on a red shelf in the family room. It is sitting on a small white plastic cake stand to give it a bit more height, can’t remember where I found it, probably HomeGoods.

IMG_3423 (2).JPG

I have had the small white birds on both sides of the centerpiece for a while and I can’t remember where they came from.

Yellow Chicks on an Easter Tablescape

March 19, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I have been thinking about a tablescape with a yellow chicks theme for a few years. I finally found everything I needed to complete the theme. I have done bunny themed Easter tables for a few years now, I wanted to do something different this year. I can’t remember where I bought the green and white gingham tablecloth but if you google it, you can find one easily. Green and white gingham always says Spring to me.

20121.03.19b.jpg

I bought these yellow chick plates on Ebay although a label on the back says CVS. I had been looking for plates with yellow chicks on them for a long time. I love them! (Actually I think they could be used as shallow bowls too.)

20121.03.19c.jpg

I bought these green melamine salad plates online several years ago. I can’t remember where. They were made by Baci Milano and the pattern was called Baroque & Rock. I have these in red also, I like the ruffle design on the lip and rim. I seem to use this bright green color often on my Spring and Summer tablescapes.

20121.03.19d.jpg

This bright blue salad (luncheon) plate was made by Fiesta and the color is Peacock. I bought them online, probably at Macys or Fiesta some years ago. I was just going to use a green plate but Hubby suggested adding blue because of the blue in the napkins and it worked!

20121.03.19e.jpg

The yellow color of this dinner or charger plate is so much brighter and prettier than this photo shows. It is a perfect lemon yellow. I bought them at Sur La Table some years ago. The plates were from their Fresh Squeezed Lemons collection.

20121.03.19f.jpg

This yellow flatware set was made by Villeroy and Boch. The pattern was called Play! Sunny Day. I have had it for several years and I can’t remember where I bought the set. It was only a four piece setting without a second salad fork but I bought it anyway because I really wanted a yellow flatware set.

20121.03.19g.jpg

I googled yellow chick napkin rings and these yellow chick metal napkin rings popped out from Ebay last month. Not sure who made them. I love those spindly little legs! I have had the napkins for several years, not sure where I bought them. They were made by Pfaltzgraf and the pattern was Summer Breeze. I tried several different napkins before I settled on this one. I like the addition of a bit of blue to the tablescape.

20121.03.19h.jpg

I bought these yellow chick (or duck!) place card holders several years ago when I first started tablescaping, they came from Pier 1. They have always been a favorite of mine.

20121.03.19a.jpg
20121.03.19j.jpg

The green plastic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 several years ago. If you read my blog, you have seen it before a few times on my tablescapes.

20121.03.19i.jpg

I joined a website a couple years ago that sends me a list of all the Estate Sales in my area every weekend. They send out photos of everything that is for sale. I saw this yellow vase at one of the sales last week and Hubby went and bought it for me. It is a bit brighter than this photo shows. I knew I could use it as a centerpiece on one of my Spring tablescapes this year. I had the faux daffodils already, they probably came from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. I wanted to add some daffodils from my garden too but mine have just finished blooming so I couldn’t.

20121.03.19p.jpg
20121.03.19l.jpg

I found this yellow chick salt and pepper set on Etsy last month. No label so I don’t know who made them.

20121.03.19k.jpg

These small yellow chicks came from Hobby Lobby online last month. Sometimes I like to add a couple small items on each side of the main centerpiece on my tablescapes for more interest and to break up the empty space.

Gold Shamrocks on a St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

March 05, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

This was another tablescape that started out going one direction and ended up going another way. I was planning a green and white St. Patrick’s Day tablescape until I found this tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago and I decided that I wanted to try to create a different tablescape around it.

2021.03.05e.jpg

I knew I wanted a gold shamrock of some kind on top of the plate stack. After googling gold shamrock, I found these four leaf clovers on Ebay and I bought the six, one at a time. They are actually gold electroplate paperweights and they were made by Gerity in 1984.

2021.03.05f.jpg

The gold shamrocks are sitting on a small Fiesta salad plate in the color Shamrock. I have had these plates for several years. I bought them at Fiesta online I think. This color has been discontinued now but you can find it online on the secondary market sometimes.

2021.03.05g.jpg

The salad plate is sitting on a Fiesta dinner plate in the color Shamrock. If you read my blog you have seen Fiesta plates in various colors and sizes on my tablescapes many times. I have had these plates for several years. I bought them at Fiesta online I think.

2021.03.05o.jpg

I bought these gold metal chargers online at Crate and Barrel a few years ago. Crate and Barrel never disappoints me, their products are well made and great quality.

2021.03.05d.jpg

This gold plated flatware set was a gift from Hubby a couple years ago. I had bought a cheap set of gold flatware several years ago. It was poor quality and the gold started flaking off. You get what you pay for! We found this set on major sale at Macys. It is made by Wallace and is called Mikasa Duchess Gold. I love the design on the handle.

2021.03.05h.jpg

I found the kelly green napkins on Amazon a few years ago and the gold Shamrock napkin rings as well. I really wanted gold shamrock napkin rings for this table, I was so happy when I saw these!

2021.03.05m.jpg

I found these gold place card holders on Amazon a few years ago. They were made by Gray Bunny. A simple gold place card holder is good to have in your tablescape collection.

2021.03.05j.jpg

The gold Poly/Carb goblet on the left was made by Le Cadeaux and the pattern is called Fleur. We found them at a gift shop on one of our trips up the California coast a couple years ago but they were really expensive so we only bought a few of them. I had been looking for that color for a long time and after we got home, I found them much cheaper online so I bought a few more. The green plastic goblet on the right came from Pier 1 several years ago. If you read my blog, you have seen this goblet before a few times.

2021.03.05l.jpg

I knew I wanted the centerpiece to be a large shamrock of some kind. I googled large shamrock and found this wood one on Etsy. I actually bought three and Hubby glued them together so it would be thicker and he made a stand for them. The shamrock came unfinished and Hubby first painted it green for me and then I decided I wanted gold instead to match the tablecloth so he repainted it gold. He is a treasure!

2021.03.05i.jpg

I found the small leprechaun figures at a gift shop a few years ago. I decided to add them to the table for a bit of whimsy.
