A Frondly Gathering Summer Tablescape

July 20, 2026 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I did a palm trees themed tablescape a few years ago but then I did another one and made some changes to it. I bought the tablecloth online at Pacific & Rose. I have been watching their tablecloths for a while and when I saw this one I remembered my palm tree plates that I was waiting to use and I knew it would work well with them. The tablecloth pattern was called Ivy Green.

Tommy Bahama Palm Tree Plates

I found these melamine palm tree salad plates and matching dinner plates at HomeGoods a few years ago. They were made by Tommy Bahama. I knew I wanted to do a palm tree tablescape design different from the previous one that I did and these plates were the perfect choice.

The green color on these plates is one of my favorite shades of green, almost a Kelly Green, and I like the strong graphics on the plates. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

Wedgwood Night and Day Charger

This porcelain white charger was made by Wedgwood and the pattern was called Night and Day. We bought them at an outlet mall several years ago. I love the bright white color and the raised design on them.

I bought this inexpensive stainless and plastic bamboo flatware set several years ago when I first started tablescaping. I can’t remember where I found it, it is just marked Stainless, China but I see similar sets are available online at several places. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

I like to mix and match fabrics that have similar colors but different scale and this tropical leaf napkin fabric is a good example of that. It works with the tablecloth even though it looks completely different and they both are a good match for the plates. I bought the tropical leaf napkins on Amazon a few years ago. I found the metal and beads palm tree napkin rings on Poshmark a few years ago too.

I saw these small plastic palm trees on Amazon a few years ago and I decided to use them as place card holders on this table setting.

If you are looking for acrylic tropical themed goblets, HomeGoods is a great place to look for them in the early Spring. I found both of these acrylic tropical themed goblets at HomeGoods a few years ago. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets (including the colors that I use most often) for your tablescaping collection here.

I am using one of my matte green pottery vases that I collected many years ago as a centerpiece. It is not labeled and I am not sure if it is vintage or not. I probably bought it on Ebay. The green color is perfect for this tablescape. The faux white hibiscus flowers came from Michael’s last year. I like the tiny pop of orange color. This is a relatively simple centerpiece because the tablecloth has such a busy pattern. With a really busy tablecloth you don’t want to clutter up the table with too many things so that the eyes don’t know what to look at first.

A local art center was having a rummage sale a few years ago and there were photos online of everything that was for sale. I saw these vintage palm tree candlesticks and Hubby went and got them for me. They are cast iron and the bottom is bronze. I wish I knew their story. I have positioned them for photos so that the candle holder part doesn’t show because I didn’t want to add candles to this tablescape.

Our neighbor has really tall palm trees surrounding their pool. Palm trees are such a California icon.

A Pink Flamingo Summer Tablescape

June 24, 2025 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

If you read my blog you know that my tablescapes are usually theme based and sometimes full of color. This tablescape is no exception, flamingos, an odd creature for sure, and very colorful. I found the tablecloth on Amazon several years ago and that started the design process. There are two large flamingos on the tablecloth but they are hidden by dishes so you can only see parts of them. The tablecloth design set the color scheme of pinks and greens for this tablescape. (This is a repeat post from four years ago.)

I looked at a few dozen salad plates online with flamingos on them and couldn’t find anything that I really liked until I saw these online at Poshmark but they only had four. I quickly checked Ebay and luckily found another four there so that I would have six for my tablescape. They are melamine and they were made by Cynthia Rowley. I love the mixtures of pinks, greens, and blues.

This dinner plate was made by Fiesta and the color is called Meadow. I have Fiesta plates in Shamrock and Lemongrass but I wanted a medium green color to add to my tablescaping collection. It has been the perfect addition.

Hubby went to the Dollar Store a few years ago and bought silver chargers for me and then spray painted them this bright pink. I am going to have to do that more often. It is such an easy and inexpensive way to create chargers that are the right colors for your table setting.

I bought this stainless and plastic bamboo flatware set several years ago when I first started tablescaping. I can’t remember where I found the set, they are just marked Stainless, China but I see similar patterns are available online at several places.

I bought the tropical leaf napkins on Amazon several years ago. The flamingo napkin rings came from Wilford & Lee Home Accents online a few years ago. I love those long legs!

These small plastic flamingos came from Oriental Trading online a few years ago. They were in the Easter section and they can be opened.

I found the plastic goblet on the left at HomeGoods a few years ago. The green color and bamboo stem are a perfect match for this tablescape. These funny plastic pink flamingo goblets came from Oriental Trading online a few years ago too. I couldn’t resist them!

I found this ceramic flamingo figure at Bed, Bath & Beyond online a few years ago. There is actually a battery operated LED light inside. The flamingo is sitting on a bright green drink dispenser stand from Pottery Barn that I bought several years ago.

A Lighthouse Summer Tablescape

July 31, 2024 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I love lighthouses and this is the fourth lighthouses tablescape that I have created. This tablescape is a bit of a combination of two others that I did in the past few years with a few changes. I found the polyester lighthouses and sail boats tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago.

This lighthouse porcelain salad plate set was made by American Atelier at Home and the pattern was called Signals. They were made between 2000 and 2006 but they can be found online still on the secondary market. There are four different lighthouse designs in the set but I only used two designs on this table setting. I bought the plates on Ebay a few years ago. I love the colors and the map design around the rim of the plates. The lighthouse on this salad plate is at Cape Neddick, near York, Maine.

The other lighthouses in this plate set are West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine ( I used this one also on this tablescape), Split Rock Lighthouse near Silver Bay, Minnesota, and Cape Hatteras Lighthouse on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The dinner plate on this lighthouses tablescape is part of our every day dishes set. It is a Scarlet dinner plate made by Fiesta. I bought them at Macys a few years ago when we remodeled our kitchen and the kitchen became a red and white kitchen. I have this dinner plate in several different colors and I use them often on my tablescapes.

The camera has really elongated this blue glass charger in this photo. It is one of my favorite chargers and I often use it on my beach and ocean themed tablescapes. I bought them when I first started tablescaping several years ago. They are a heavy blue glass and I love the color and the tweed like design in the glass. They were made by Villeroy and Boch and the pattern was called Verona. I am not sure where I found them online. I have this charger in a few other colors as well.

This Milano Red flatware set is called Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had this set for years but it is still for sale. I am not sure where I bought it. I now have it in other colors as well. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

This red cotton napkin came from Pier 1 several years ago. I found the lighthouse napkin rings on Ebay a few years ago, they were a set with a couple of different designs. From time to time I search Ebay for napkin rings and I always seem to find some interesting ones. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

I found these ceramic Kate Aspen lighthouse place card holders on Ebay a few years ago. There were a few different designs in the set and you can see one of the other designs across the table in this photo. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

I think the red glass goblet on the left came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. I had been looking for some simple red goblets and I grabbed these when I saw them online. I only bought six and I wish now that I had bought more. The blue glass goblet on the right came from Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It is the perfect blue color for many of my ocean themed tablescapes. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

When I first created a lighthouse themed tablescape a few years ago I knew that I wanted to use a lighthouse for a centerpiece and I found this lighthouse cookie jar on Ebay. It is sitting on a dark blue drink dispenser stand from Pottery Barn that I bought several years ago, to give it more height. If you read my blog you have seen several cookie jars that I have used as centerpieces. They are the best dimensions for use as centerpieces.

I remembered that I used these lighthouse tea light candle holders on one of the earlier lighthouse tablescapes that I did so I added one on each side of the lighthouse centerpiece. I’m not sure where I bought them. I have had them for several years.

I love lighthouses!

A Seaside Summer Tablescape

July 11, 2024 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

It’s the time of year that I want to be staying somewhere right on the ocean, where I can just walk out and put my feet in the waves. This tablescape reminds me of that. I chose this tablecloth for this week’s tablescape because it looks like ocean sand. It has a texture to it that you can see in some of the photos. I found the beige tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. It has a slight faint brown tweed design.

My camera photo goofed up the shape of this salad plate a bit, it is round. I have had these Adirondack blue chair beach plates for a few years waiting to pull a tablescape together using them and I finally got it done. Not one of my favorites, but it will do. These salad plates were designed by Susan Winget, a watercolor artist who lives in South Carolina. I have other plates that she has designed in my tablescaping collection. I can’t remember where I bought the salad plates but it may have been Ebay or HomeGoods.

A few years ago I was looking for a basic cream colored dinner plate and I found this one. It is Mason Stoneware made by Pottery Barn. I think this color was called Wheat. It comes in other colors as well. It is a great size (10 3/4”) for a dinner plate and large enough that it could be used as a charger with smaller dinner plates.

This charger was made by Mikasa and it is called Color Spectrum in Royal Blue. I love this charger, it is heavy and a great color. I have several other chargers like this one in other colors. I bought them all a few at a time on Ebay over several years.

This is my newest flatware set, a gift from Hubby for my birthday and Mother’s Day. This blue flatware set is labeled Mepra Inox and the pattern is called Fantasia. We bought it on sale at Macys online a few months ago but several stores online sell it. I also have this flatware pattern in orange and yellow. It comes in several other colors as well and it is difficult to find flatware sets in different colors so I have my eye on a few other colors when it goes on sale again. I have never seen a flatware set that comes in so many different colors. We bought the set on sale at Macys online. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here. This photo really shows the tweed pattern in the beige tablecloth.

I am disappointed that the colors of the napkin are so washed out in this photo although they are light colors. It is an image of the ocean waves and the sand. I bought the napkins this week on Amazon. The blue Adirondack chair napkin rings came from Wilford & Lee Home Accents online a few years ago. They were white and I used them on another beach tablescape but Hubby painted them blue for me for this table setting to match the salad plates.

A better photo that shows the napkin design.

The blue Adirondack chair place card holders came from Kohl’s online a few years ago. They were a natural wood but Hubby spray painted them white for me for another tablescape that I did a few years ago and then blue for this tablescape.

We found the blue glass goblet on the left at Hobby Lobby last year. I was looking for a light blue glass goblet and these were perfect. The beige glass goblet on the right came from Z Gallerie online a few years ago. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

I wanted a beach type chair for a centerpiece for a beach tablescape a few years ago and I started looking for doll chairs. I finally found this white one on Amazon. It was made by Matty’s Toy Shop and it was just what I was looking for. It was white for another tablescape but Hubby painted it blue for this one. I wanted to add something to it so I found a wash cloth at HomeGoods that looked like a beach towel and I draped it over the arm and I added a small seagull on the other arm. I can’t remember where I found the seagull.

I can’t remember where I found the seagulls. They came in a set of three and I put one on each side of the beach chair.

We definitely need a trip to the beach soon!
