Ghosts on a Halloween Tablescape

I found this tablecloth online at At Home. I was looking for a tablecloth to use with these Johanna Parker ghosts and I wanted it to have an orange background. This tablecloth was exactly what I needed. This is the 23rd Halloween tablescape that I have created and the second Ghost tablescape. Halloween tablescapes are some of my favorites to create. I have such a weakness for Johanna Parker designs. I think they are so cute! These Johanna Parker ghost salad plates were made by Transpac and they are also labeled Every day is a holiday. I bought them at Mercari online, Ebay, and Etsy in order to get the six that I needed.

I have an extra plate on this plate stack. I bought these black melamine salad plates online at Home Depot last summer. They were part of their Home Decorator Collection and they were made by Trenblay. An unusual plate design that is appearing more often now. I have noticed that plate designers are changing the shape of the edges of plates more and more often now.

I love the orange color and the white edge on this dinner plate. The orange is a true Halloween orange and I love true primary colors. This dinner plate was a Rachael Ray design, the pattern was called Rise. I bought them online somewhere several years ago but I can’t remember where. This black plastic acrylic charger came from tableclothsFACTORY online a year ago. I was happy with the relatively inexpensive price for six chargers.

This black flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had this set for years and it came from Overstock.com. If you read my blog you have seen this flatware on other Halloween tablescapes also. It is in constant use in October. These black cotton napkins came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. They are a really nice study cotton fabric. These Johanna Parker ghost napkin rings came from Christmas Traditions online last year. They match the salad plates and the centerpiece. I love the happy ghost face.

I found these small soy white wax ghost candles on Amazon last year. I set them on a Oleg Cassini clear glass place card holder. I bought the place card holders at HomeGoods several years ago when I first started tablescaping. They are heavy and solid and I really like the simple design. I often use them as a stand for place card holder items. If you read my blog you have seen them several times being used as a stand for something that I am using as a place card holder. I often use black and orange goblets on my Halloween tablescapes but this black goblet is a newer addition to my goblet collection. I bought them last year. I have black goblets that are shorter than this goblet and black goblets that are much taller than this goblet but I wanted goblets this height that were all black. I was delighted to find these black plastic ones on Amazon last year. The advertisement said that they are disposable but I plan to keep them for a while until I can find some black glass ones that are the same height. I think I bought these orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx several years ago. They were some of the first goblets I bought when I started tablescaping. I love using them this time of year. I found this Halloween Boo ghost cookie jar designed by Johanna Parker on Ebay last year. I set it on a small black glass cake stand that I have had for several years. Not sure where I found it.

I added a couple of small white wood ghosts to the table that I found at Hobby Lobby. When you have a busy tablecloth you don’t want to fill the table with too much clutter because everything blends into everything and the eye doesn’t know what to look at. You also need to add areas of solid color to rest the eyes.

I found this Johanna Parker ghost salt and pepper set on Ebay last year. I love how the facial expressions match the ghosts on the tablecloth.

Pumpkins on a Fall Tablescape

I had been thinking about a Fall tablescape without a tablecloth ever since I found these pumpkin placemats last year. This table started out one direction and ended up going another one as they sometimes do depending on how things mesh together.

I really love these pumpkin salad plates and I try to use them on at least one Fall tablescape every year. I bought them several years ago at Sur La Table online. I had been looking for a good pumpkin plate for some time and they were the perfect color.

I bought these Mason stoneware dinner plates at Pottery Barn online a few years ago. The color was called wheat. I really like this plate and I am thinking about buying it in another color. You can read about what you need to think about when you are buying dinner plates here.

I bought these pumpkin woven chargers at Pottery Barn online a few years ago at the end of the season when they were on sale. I knew I would be using them on a Fall tablescape someday.

This marblelized light brown and cream flatware set is marked EM3 Inox 18/10, Made in Italy. I can’t remember where I bought the set online, I have had it for a few years. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. I think I bought the orange glass goblets on the right at Ross or T.J. Maxx several years ago. They were some of the first goblets that I bought when I started tablescaping. When I bought them I figured I wouldn’t use them that often but I am surprised at how often they appear on my tablescapes. This rattan pumpkin centerpiece came from Pottery Barn online a few years ago. I set it on an orange place mat that I have had for many years.

Soup Time? Set a Fall Pumpkin Tablescape!

This is a table setting that I have posted before but it is one of my favorite Fall tablescapes so I am posting it again. The sage green tablecloth probably came from Amazon, I have had it for a while.

These small pumpkin tureens came from Pier 1 several years ago. They are my absolute favorite pumpkin dishes. I love the color and the raised design.

This is the matching salad plate in the same design from Pier 1. This raised design with all the curlicues is wonderful!

This dinner plate also came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Clove. I like the beaded design around the rim. This shade of green is a great shade for Fall tables and I use it frequently during the fall season. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

These rattan chargers were among some of the first tablescape items I bought several years ago. I think I bought them at World Market but if you google rattan charger you can find them several places.

I found these sage green crochet doily place mats at Bed, Bath, and Beyond a few years ago. I wish they had come in other colors too because I really like the ruffled edge and the way it sets off whatever is on top of it. You can just see a hint of them on this tablescape but I decided to use them anyway because they add a nice contrast to the rattan. Some say that you shouldn’t use a place mat with a tablecloth but I do it anyway sometimes!

I am using my Madeline Green flatware on this table, I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. It is one of my most used flatware sets. If you are developing a tablescaping collection be sure to find some flatware in a green color like this set. You will use it often! These bright plaid napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1. I have had them for several years. I love using them during the Fall season. The plastic pumpkin napkin rings came from Ebay several years ago. To read about the what, where and how of napkin rings please click here.

These orange ceramic pumpkin name cards came from Hobby Lobby on sale a few years ago. I love the bright orange color. You can use a water-based pen or marker on them that can be erased for future reuse. They are great for labeling food on a buffet table too. They had sunflowers and brown leaves also and I bought them as well. You can see the sunflower one on my Sunflower tablescape here. I think I bought these orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx. They were some of the first goblets I bought several years ago. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I have, especially this time of year. Dollar stores often have plastic goblets in bright colors during the spring and summer, the price can’t be beat! They have great glass goblets too. I bought the green acrylic goblets a couple years ago online at Home Depot. They are made by Certified International and they come in other colors too. This green is a great basic green color if you are looking for a green goblet to start your tablescaping collection. This salt and pepper set came from Pier 1 several years ago and matches the tureens and plates.

This salt and pepper set came with the napkin rings when I bought them on Ebay a couple years ago.

I love this large pumpkin tureen and the matching ladle spoon. I wanted a bit more height so I set it on one of my small green Depression Glass bowls. It came from Pier 1 as well, several years ago.

Sunflowers on a Fall Tablescape

With Fall around the corner, it’s time for a Sunflower tablescape. I did a Sunflower tablescape before a few years ago but this one is a bit different. I found this sunflower tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. It was made by Fiesta.

I bought these earthenware sunflower salad plates at our Pier 1 store several years ago before it closed. The pattern was called Sunflower.

This is a Fiesta dinner plate, the color is called Butterscotch. I bought them on sale a few years ago at Smith’s in Salt Lake City. I bought six and now I wish I had bought more. I have this dinner plate in several different colors now and they are in constant use on my tablescapes. You can read about what you need to think about when you are buying dinner plates here.

I bought these iced glass sage colored chargers at Pier 1 several years ago after I saw them on another blog. I love using them in the spring and the fall. To read about what you should be considering when you are buying chargers click here.

This frosted green flatware set often appears on at least one fall tablescape every year. I bought the set at World Market several years ago and the pattern was called Madeline Green . I have gathered a good collection of faux flowers over the years and I can’t remember where I bought these faux sunflowers but Michaels always has them. I put them in a Fiesta vase, the vase color is called Daffodil. I love this vase and I have it in a few different colors.

I added a couple sets of sunflower salt and peppers to the table that I found on Amazon.

I love the colors on this tablescape, they really say Fall to me.
