Lighthouses on a Summer Tablescape

Hubby and I love lighthouses and summer is a perfect time to create a lighthouse tablescape. I have done lighthouse themed tablescapes before, one in 2021 here and one in 2019 here but this one is different. I found this lighthouse tablecloth at Spoonflower online and I knew it would match my lighthouse salad plates.

This lighthouse salad plate set was made by American Atelier at Home. There are four different lighthouse designs in the set but I only used three on this table setting. I bought the plates on Ebay a few years ago. I love the colors and the design around the rim of the plate. This actual lighthouse is in Cape Neddick, Maine near York.

The other lighthouses on the plates on this tablescape are West Quoddy Head in Lubec, Maine and Split Rock Lighthouse near Silver Bay, Minnesota. The missing lighthouse plate shows Cape Hatteras on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks.

I chose this light beige melamine dinner plate to match the beige background color of the tablecloth. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago and some turquoise plates in the same pattern. They were made by Il Mulino New York.

This is one of the chargers I often use on my beach and ocean themed tablescapes. I bought them when I first started tablescaping several years ago. They are a heavy blue glass and I love the color and the tweed like design in the glass. They are made by Villeroy and Boch and the pattern is Verona. Not sure where I found them online. I have this charger in a few other colors as well.

I really love the frosted cream color of this flatware set, it is so unique. The flatware was made by D & D Inox in Italy. I bought the set at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. I have this design in a few other frosted colors as well.

I bought these nautical themed napkin rings on Ebay several years ago. The blue and cream colors are perfect on this tablescape. While I was pulling this tablescape together I was struggling to decide what accent color I wanted to use for the napkins and my daughter stopped by and immediately suggested coral and she was right on! She often does that with my tablescapes, she is very creative, and she has a good eye for design. I found these chambrey coral napkins on Amazon last week.

I found these ceramic Kate Aspen lighthouse place card holders on Ebay a few weeks ago.

The blue glass goblet on the left came from Hobby Lobby a few months ago. I can’t remember where I bought the coral glass goblet on the right. I thought it was Hobby Lobby but I am not sure. I have a few different coral/pink goblets and they are all different shades of those colors. Sometimes I can’t decide whether to inventory them as coral or pink and I put them in both folders on the computer.

I found this wood lighthouse at Michael’s online a few months ago. The colors are a perfect match for the tablecloth.

I remembered that I used these lighthouse tea light candle holders on one of the earlier lighthouse tablescapes that I did so I added one on each side of the lighthouse centerpiece. I’m not sure where I bought them. I have had them for several years.

I love lighthouses! Maybe next year we will take a tour to see more of them on the East Coast.

A Tropical Summer Tablescape

I saw these bamboo plates and decided to create a tropical themed tablescape for summer. I have done a couple other tropical themed tablescapes in the past but this tablecloth is very different from the tablecloth I used on those table settings. I found the Ambesonne Palm Leaf tablecloth on Amazon earlier this month.

These melamine salad and dinner plates came from Sur La Table online a couple of months ago. The pattern is called Tropicale Bamboo.

I have had these lime green glass charger plates for several years, I think I bought them on Amazon. They were made by Bormioli Rocco, an Italian company, and the pattern was called Inca. I have them in a few other colors as well. They are heavy glass and I really love how solid they are and the textured pattern in the glass. I found both of these acrylic tropical themed goblets at HomeGoods a couple of years ago. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying goblets for your tablescaping collection including the colors that I use most often here.

I found these artificial bamboo leaf stems on Amazon earlier this month. I put them in a simple glass vase I already had.

It’s a different tablescape design but a fun and informal one for summer.

Crabs on a Summer Tablescape

We live about a mile and a half as the crow flies from the Pacific Ocean. During the summer months I seem to lean toward creating ocean and beach themed tablescapes. I really don’t do them any other time of the year so I save up my ideas from year to year for the summer months. I found this Ambesonne underwater pattern tablecloth on Amazon a couple of years ago. If you read my blog, you saw it on my Octopus tablescape two years ago. I love the colors and the movement on it.

These white crab shaped shallow bowls were made by Bordallo Pinheiro and it took me five years to find six of them one at a time on Ebay. (As it is, one arrived broken and we had to glue it together.) I have been saving them for a few years to use on a tablescape. I have done two other crab tablescapes in the past few years but I used red crabs on those tablescapes.

This teal dinner plate matches the teal color in the tablecloth although the photos don’t show the accurate colors as well as they should. It is a brighter color. I bought these plates at HomeGoods several years ago. They were made in Portugal. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

This white charger is part of one of the first charger sets I bought when I started tablescaping. The pattern is Antique Beaded and I bought them at Williams Sonoma several years ago. I use this charger constantly on my table settings. If you look back through my blog at my tablescapes, you will see it often. A simple white charger is a great first purchase if you want to create more interest in your table settings. I have had this frosted aqua flatware set for a few years. The flatware is labeled Bugatti for Vietri and the pattern is Aladdin Brilliant in Aqua. I bought the set at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. I have frosted blue, gray, and pink flatware sets in this same pattern also. I bought these wood white crab napkin rings on Etsy a few years ago. They were red but we painted them white for this tablescape. I bought the napkins at our Pier 1 store before it closed. I love the multi-colored design because I seem to have many different shades of turquoise, teal, and blue dishes and these napkins match many of them. I often chose them for ocean themed tablescapes. I found these plastic crabs online somewhere, I can’t remember where. They were red and we painted them white. I set them on a Oleg Cassini clear glass place card holder. I bought the place card holders at HomeGoods several years ago when I first started tablescaping. They are heavy and solid and I really like the simple design. The turquoise acrylic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 several years ago, I have this goblet in several different colors in both glass and acrylic. I really like the height of these goblets. I saw this large cast aluminum crab online at Grandin Road three years ago and I knew it would make a great centerpiece someday. I think it is supposed to be yard art. It had a weathered copper finish but Hubby painted it red for me for a tablescape that I did a few years ago and white for this tablescape.

Mermaids on a Summer Tablescape

I created a mermaid tablescape three years ago but when I saw these mermaid salad plates I knew it was time to do another one. I think the denim blue tablecloth came from Crate and Barrel or Sur La Table several years ago.

I saw these mermaid salad plates at a Cracker Barrel restaurant a few months ago while we were on a long weekend. They only had five plates but I knew I could probably find them online and so I waited and bought six salad plates online at the Cracker Barrel site after I got home. I really like the raised elements with the mixture of blues and greens that were designed by Susan Winget for Cracker Barrel. This is a different color scheme from the earlier mermaid tablescape that I did three years ago.

The dinner plate I chose for this tablescape was made by Fiesta and the color is Shamrock. This color has now been discontinued but you can still find them online on the secondary market. I have this dinner plate in several different colors because it is the perfect dinner plate for a plate stack when there is a salad plate with a detailed design. I added an extra plate to this plate stack to create the certain color sequence that I wanted. This stoneware charger plate came from Pottery Barn several years ago. The pattern is called Cambria and the color is Turquoise.

I have a few different white chargers but this is the one I seem to use the most on my tablescapes. The beaded rim design always adds an additional bit of interest to a plate stack. This white beaded charger came from Williams Sonoma and it is called Antique Beaded. It was one of the first chargers I bought when I started tablescaping several years ago. I decided that one of the accent colors for this table setting would be white so I chose this frosted white flatware set. I bought the frosted white flatware on sale online at Wayfair a few years ago, it is made by Cambridge. It is 18/0 so the fork tines are a bit sharper than I would like but I really liked the frosted color. Wayfair has really good sales on flatware sometimes. I can’t remember where I bought these mermaid napkins several years ago. They are double sided and look like they were handmade so they may have come from Etsy. I bought these mermaid napkin rings on Amazon a couple months ago. They were zinc alloy but Hubby painted them green for me to match the centerpiece. I like the simple design. I am using my white clam shell place card holders on this tablescape. They were made by Andrea by Sadek. I have had them for several years, I can’t remember where I bought them but I see them on Ebay from time to time. I bought the blue goblet on the left at Pottery Barn online earlier this year. They were made by Qualia and the pattern was Flora in the color Dream Blue. The sage green acrylic goblet on the right came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. I love the height of these goblets. I was looking for a mermaid to use as a centerpiece several years ago. Hubby was at a nursery looking at plants and found this one, she was a gray concrete color but I knew I was going to paint her. We painted her white for the other mermaid tablescape that I did three years ago but she is green for this one. She is solid and really heavy (she weights 25 pounds) and she sits outside in the middle of a birdbath when she isn’t a centerpiece. I found the netting on Amazon a few weeks ago.

I bought these small mermaids on Ebay a few years ago, I think they are supposed to be for fairy gardens. I put a set on each side of the centerpiece.
