Forks and Spoons on a Modern Tablescape

I have had these black and white fork, knife, and spoon dinner plates for many years since I started tablescaping. I used them several years ago on a manners themed table setting but I knew I would work another table around them at some point and I finally gathered what I needed together to do it this week. The white polyester tablecloth probably came from Amazon several years ago. I found the Design Imports vintage flatware print runner at Macy’s online last month. I love the interplay between lime green and black so I added lime green as an accent color on this modern tablescape.

These small black dessert plates probably came from HomeGoods several years ago. They were made by 10 Strawberry Street and the pattern was called Classic Black Porcelain. I really like the way they look set against the dinner plate.

Emma Bridgewater Knives and Forks Plates

These dinner plates were made by Emma Bridgewater in Stoke-on-Trent, England. The pattern was called Knives and Forks. I bought them online several years ago and they are no longer in production. I thought they were the perfect plates to add to a tablescaping plate collection.

Bormioli Rocco Inca Chargers

I have had these lime green glass charger plates for several years, I think I bought them on Amazon. They were made by Bormioli Rocco, an Italian company, and the pattern was called Inca. I have them in a few other colors as well. They are heavy glass and I really love how solid they are and the textured pattern in the glass.

Gorham Studio Flatware

I decided to use our everyday stainless flatware on this tablescape to match the napkin rings and the centerpiece. The flatware set is made by Gorham and the pattern is called Studio. I bought the set several years ago probably at Macy’s. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

The fork and spoon napkin rings were made by French Laundry Home and I bought them on sale online at Horchow several years ago. The white napkins with a black knife, fork, and spoon design are some of my favorite napkins. I have had them for several years and I can’t remember where they came from. The lime green napkins were made by Fiesta, I think I bought them online on the Fiesta site or at Macy’s.

I bought the green spiral glass goblet on the left several years ago. It was one of the first goblets I bought at Pier 1 when I started tablescaping. I love the spiral design and the height of it. The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a couple years ago. Home Depot Fork, Knife, and Spoon Sculpture

I knew I wanted a flatware design of some kind for the centerpiece so I googled it and found this aluminum and pine wood utensil sculpture at Home Depot online. It is made by Litton Lane. I’ve decided that it will normally sit on my baker’s rack in the kitchen. I set it on a black wood stand and covered the stand with one of the lime green napkins to add another pop of color on the table.

I found the two black and white salt and pepper sets on Amazon last week. They are made by DWTS. Their bold design is a perfect match for this modern tablescape.

Such an unusual tablescape theme, bet you haven’t seen this theme before anywhere!

Leprechauns on a St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

This is a fairly simple St. Patrick’s Day Tablescape. I did it three years ago but I made a few changes for this one. I have been a bit under the weather this past week so I decided to go simple for this one. I think I bought the sage green tablecloth online on a tablecloth site several years ago but I can’t remember where.

Bordallo Pinheiro Shamrock Salad Plate

This green shamrock salad plate was made in Portugal by Bordallo Pinheiro. I really love these plates. I have six and I have bought them one by one on Ebay over the past few years as well as some others that are the same pattern with a round shape. Finding them all has been difficult and I am still looking for a few more. Read about what you need to consider when shopping for salad plates here.

This white dinner plate is called Oakdale White and was made by Fitz and Floyd. I think I found them at HomeGoods several years ago. I like the braid design around the rim.

This charger was made by Mikasa and it is called Color Spectrum in Hunter Green. I love this charger, it is heavy and a great color. I have several others in other colors. I bought them all a few at a time on Ebay.

Celtic Crusader Flatware

This heavy stainless flatware is labeled Helmick/O.M.C. and the pattern is called Celtic Crusader. I have learned to buy 18/10 stainless when I can because with cheaper quality flatware sometimes the fork tines have not been filed and are really sharp. I always test flatware by touching the fork tines to see what they feel like. I love the way this flatware looks, it is heavy, really shiny, and it is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day. These green metal shamrock napkin rings came from Etsy last December. I have had the vintage white damask napkins for several years. They probably came from Ebay. Damask napkins always remind me of my mother, she loved damask tablecloths and napkins. You can read my blog post about how to store napkin rings and place card holders here.

I found these shamrock place card holders on Ebay last month. Can’t remember where I found the place cards. I finally organized my place cards drawer and they popped out!

Waterford Lismore

The clear goblet on the left is my wedding crystal, Lismore, by Waterford. The Lismore Collection was launched in 1952 and now, 70 years later, it is the only design from this period that still remains. Of all of Waterford Crystal's cuts Lismore is the most loved. The light green goblet on the right was made by Noritake and it is called Sweet Swirl in light green. These were made between 1985 and 2005, I found them on Ebay. Mr. Leprechaun

I love Mr. Leprechaun. Can’t remember where I got him, he comes in two parts. I love his kind face and cute bow tie. He’s standing on a white plastic short cake stand. It probably came from HomeGoods. I bought the two resin leprechauns last year somewhere but I don’t remember where. I like their cute faces and all the detail, gold buckles and all! I used them on last week’s tablescape too.

6 Amazing Spring and Easter Tablescape Ideas

A Bit of French Provincial Style on a Spring Tablescape

This is one of my favorite Spring tablescapes. I love the cheerful salad plate with the butterfly and brightly colored flowers. The bight yellow dinner plate and cobalt blue metal charger really complement the salad plate and tablecloth. Cobalt blue and bright yellow together are a wonderful color combination for Spring. The cobalt blue glass vase and faux yellow tulips are a perfect centerpiece and I love the small vases full of tiny flowers. A Magnolias and Roses Tablescape for Spring

This is a special Spring tablescape that I did in memory of my mother who loved magnolias and roses. The soft pinks and greens work well together on this table setting. I used my mother’s wedding sterling from 1938, a delicate pattern called Chased Diana made by Towle. The faux cream magnolias surrounding the centerpiece were purchased secondhand from a bride who had used them for her wedding, a great bargain! Bumblebees on a Buffalo Print Spring Tablescape

Spring brings lots of insects with it and bumblebees are no exception. I love this bright Spring table setting. There is something about buffalo prints that sends a message of strength and good cheer. I was so lucky to find the bumblebee fabric napkins and the napkin rings have a bumblebee on them as well. I was so happy when I found the small plates with the honeycomb background and flying bumblebees. The bumblebee cookie jar centerpiece sets the tone for a fun tablescape. Birds on a Spring Tablescape

It wouldn’t be Spring without the sound of birds singing in the trees. I have two small bird baths and I really enjoy watching the birds as they splash about. I love this blue and white porcelain plate set. Most of my plates are round and I like having some that are a different shape. Cookie jars make great centerpieces and this white bird cookie jar is no exception. I like the strong contrast with the white on the dark blue tablecloth. This wonderful stainless flatware set is called Audubon by Ricci Silversmiths. The handles are covered with delicate bird and flower designs. Yellow Chicks on an Spring Easter Tablescape

I decided to do something besides bunnies for this Spring Easter Tablescape. When I saw the yellow chick bowls I knew I had a plan. The bright yellow faux daffodils make a perfect centerpiece for this Easter table setting. The green gingham tablecloth sends a message of green things and the growing season. Time for an Easter Bunny Spring Tablescape

The color purple is frequently a part of Easter decorations and it is a good pairing with green on this tablescape. I have always loved these Fitz and Floyd bunny salad plates, the pattern was called Halcyon. The pattern was produced from 2003 to 2004 and it has been discontinued although pieces are still available on the secondary market. The bunny cookie jar comes from the same dish series. This frosted green flatware set is one of my most popular flatware sets and I always get questions and comments when I post a tablescape that includes it. A Black and Green St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

I’ve done green St. Patrick’s Day tablescapes a few times but when I saw this black and green shamrock tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago I decided that I would create a black and green St. Patrick’s Day tablescape.

Shamrock Salad Plate

I found these inexpensive square melamine shamrock salad plates at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. Sometimes it is difficult to match greens but these plates worked with the green in the tablecloth. When I saw them I remembered that I have square black dinner plates and chargers so I knew I could create a plate stack for this tablecloth. These square melamine black dinner plates are labeled elite global solutions. I don’t remember if I bought them on that web site or somewhere else a few years ago. They are good quality and a good basic black square plate for your tablescaping collection. Read about what you need to consider when shopping for dinner plates here.

This square black charger was made by American Atelier and distributed by The Jay Companies. I have had them for several years and I can’t remember where I bought them but it might have been Amazon or Webstaurantstore.com. They look like glass but they are some kind of resin.

Ginkgo International LePrix Flatware

This black flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had it for years but it is still for sale online. Not sure where I bought it. I have this flatware in other colors as well. Crate & Barrel Black Cotton Napkins

I found the green and clear acrylic shamrock napkin rings on Etsy several years ago. The black cotton napkins came from Crate and Barrel online a few years ago. I wanted some basic black cotton napkins and Crate and Barrel always has good quality items. You can read my blog post about how to store napkin rings and place card holders here.

My daughter-in-law gave me these Kate Aspen Topiary Tree place card holders several years ago. I see them for sale online from time to time online on various sites. The green place cards came from Amazon.

I googled large shamrock and found this wood one on Etsy. I actually bought three and Hubby glued them together so they would be thicker and he made a stand for them. The shamrock came unfinished and Hubby first painted it green for me and then I decided I wanted gold to match a St. Patrick’s Day tablescape that I did (you can see that tablescape here) so he painted it gold. I wanted it green again and he painted it green for me. When you are out and about looking for tablescaping items keep in mind that you can usually paint anything a different color if necessary. The black stand the shamrock is sitting on was a natural wood color but Hubby painted it white for me to use on a few of my Beach tablescapes and then black for a couple Halloween tables. Now I wish I had bought a couple more to paint other colors! You can see the stand painted white on one of my summer tablescapes here. The small metal green shamrocks on the black stand are actually bells, I can’t remember where I found them.

I bought the two resin leprechauns a few years ago somewhere but I don’t remember where. I like their cute faces and all the detail, gold buckles and all!
