A Sunflower Tablescape

August 12, 2020 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I have had a sunflower tablescape in the back of my mind for over a year. I have two different sunflower salad plates and I decided to use this one this year. I found the tablecloth on Amazon. It’s a bit busy but I think it works here. You seldom see a single sunflower, they tend to be in bunches and this table gives a sense of that.

I bought these sunflower salad plates at Pier 1 a few years ago. The other sunflower salad plates I have are yellow and I think these look a bit more realistic colorwise.

2020.08.12m.jpg

The dinner plates came from Pier 1 several years ago. They were part of their Spice Route Collection and I think this color was clove. They came in several different colors and I have a few of the other colors too. I often use these plates on Fall tablescapes. You can see them on another Fall tablescape here.

2020.08.12d.jpg

I bought these iced glass sage chargers at Pier 1 several years ago after I saw them on another blog. I love using them in the spring and fall.

2020.08.12b.jpg

Using my Madeline Green flatware again on this table, I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. If you read my blog you saw it on my Watermelon and Beach tablescapes. After red, I think green is the most used color on my tablescapes because it can be used during the Spring and Fall seasons.

2020.08.12c.jpg

I ordered some sunflower napkin rings but they weren’t going to get here in time so I ordered these felt sunflower heads from Oriental Trading and temporarily attached them to some tortoise shell napkin rings that I have with masking tape. The green napkins came from World Market online several years ago.

These yellow ceramic sunflower name cards came from Hobby Lobby a couple years ago. You can use a water-based pen or marker on them that can be erased for future reuse. They had pumpkins and brown leaves also and you will probably see them on future tablescapes.

2020.08.12f.jpg

I bought the green acrylic goblets last year online at Home Depot. Home Depot now sells tablescaping items! They are made by Certified International. The amber and green glass goblets came from Mexico, I bought them online several years ago but I can’t remember where.

2020.08.12g.jpg

I saw this MacKenzie-Childs watering can on another blogger’s (Life and Linda) tablescape a couple years ago and loved it and she was kind enough to share the maker’s name with me. It is made of green metal and I love the way it looks on this tablescape. I added some faux sunflowers to complete the centerpiece.

Sunflowers are such a happy cheerful flower and perfect for a Summer to Fall table setting!

A Summer Watermelon Tablescape

August 05, 2020 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I’ve had these watermelon salad plates for several years but I never used them on a tablescape until now. I kind of forgot that I had them! I think I bought the red and white large check print tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. Red and green are one of my favorite color combinations. You can see a couple other tablescapes I have created with that color scheme here and here.

2020.08.05c.jpg

I can’t remember where I bought these watermelon salad plates and there is no mark on the back.

2020.08.05d.jpg

This Shamrock dinner plate is made by Fiesta. I bought them several years ago at Macy’s.

2020.08.05e.jpg

The charger was made by Mikasa and is called Color Spectrum in Hunter Green. I love this charger, it is heavy and a great color. I have several others in other colors. I bought them all a few at a time on Ebay.

2020.08.05b.jpg

I am using my Madeline Green flatware on this table, I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. There are lots of different colored frosted flatware sets for sale right now online at various places.

2020.08.05f.jpg

I bought these Whyalla Watermelon print napkins online at Wayfair four years ago. I was looking for a bold design and these worked! I found the vintage watermelon napkin rings on Ebay then too.

2020.08.05g.jpg
2020.08.05h.jpg

I found these watermelon boxes online at Oriental Trading four years ago. I knew they would work well on this table as place card holders. They could hold a small party favor too.

2020.08.05p.jpg
2020.08.05i.jpg

I used my red Waterford Marquis Brookside goblets for this table setting. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. If you read my blog you have seen this goblet on many different tablescapes. The green glass goblets come from The Vermont Country Store online. They are made by Mosser in the U.S. and the pattern is Georgia. They are really heavy glass and very good quality. I have bought a few at a time over the years until I had a set. I also have them in cobalt blue. They come in red as well.

2020.08.05k.jpg

Just for fun I added my Circle pattern green Depression Glass cream and sugar. I bought them many many years ago on Ebay or at an antique mall.

2020.08.05l.jpg

I added my Circle pattern green Depression Glass salt and pepper too. They came from Ebay many years ago.

2020.08.05j.jpg

I was randomly searching on Etsy a few years ago for anything watermelon related that I could use as a centerpiece and found this painted half gallon Mason jar. I added some faux geraniums and it was done!

2020.08.05o.jpg

I just love red and green together!

A Tablescape for the Beach

July 29, 2020 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

Who doesn’t want to be at the beach right now! This tablescape idea started with these beach scene melamine salad plates. I went a bit wild finding everything for this table setting. I’m not sure where I found the turquoise tablecloth, I have had it for several years.

2020.07.29a (2).jpg

I was browsing through a Front Gate catalog a few years ago that had come in the mail and I saw these plates. I had been looking for a salad plate with a beachie scene and I loved the colors on this one. The palm trees and colorful beach umbrellas design is perfect.

2020.07.29b (2).jpg

These turquoise melamine salad plates came from HomeGoods a few years ago. They were made by IL Mulino New York. Like the salad plates, they are a nice heavy melamine.

2020.07.29c.jpg

Hubby went to the Dollar Store and bought silver chargers for me and then spray painted them this bright pink to match the salad plates. I am going to have to do that more often. It is such an easy way to have chargers the right colors for your table setting. The lime green place mats came from Pier 1 several years ago.

2020.07.29d.jpg

This flatware was called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market online several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. There are many flatware sets available online right now in different colors that are frosted like this set.

2020.07.29e.jpg

The white Adirondack chair napkin rings came from Wilford & Lee Home Accents online. I found the DII Design Imports tropical theme napkins on Amazon a few years ago after watching for beachie type napkins there for quite a while. They were a perfect color match for this table setting.

2020.07.29n.jpg
2020.07.29f.jpg

The white Adirondack chair place card holders came from Kohl’s online a few years ago. They were a natural wood but Hubby spray painted them white for me. I added a small plastic beach ball to match the centerpiece.

2020.07.29g.jpg

The lime green glass goblets came from Pier 1 several years ago, I use them several times a year. I like how tall they are and the design. The turquoise plastic goblets also came from Pier 1.

2020.07.29h.jpg

I wanted a beach type chair for a centerpiece and I started looking for doll chairs. I finally found this one on Amazon. It was made by Matty’s Toy Shop and it was just what I was looking for. I’ll probably put it somewhere with a plant on it later. I bought the small doll towel, beach ball, and shovel and pail set on Amazon as well.

4 Different Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas

July 27, 2020 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

It’s not too early to be thinking about your Thanksgiving table design. I am wishing and hoping that we all can gather together this year so let’s think about the turkey tablescape and start gathering the pieces just in case.

2019.11.20o.jpg

This is a fairly simple two color table setting. I had the turkey dinner plates and when I found the white turkey tureen I decided that I would design the table around brown and white.

2019.11.20d.jpg

The turkey dinner plates were made by Spode and the pattern is called Celebration. I think I bought them at HomeGoods a few years ago. I like the profile of this large turkey and the flower border.

2019.11.20.jpg

The white turkey tureen came from Pottery Barn last year. I had been looking for a large white soup tureen for a while but nothing was quite right. When I saw this one I decided he needed a good home with us. I liked the fact that he came with a matching ladle. For more information about everything on this table please click here to read my blog post about it all.

2019.11.03e (2).jpg

The idea for this Thanksgiving tablescape design came from these turkey salad plates. I bought a few of these plates on sale after Thanksgiving a couple years ago at Pottery Barn when they only had a few left and when it was offered again last year I was able to buy a few more. They are offering them again this year (2020). The pattern is called Botanical Harvest Turkey. The color blue is not a color that one would normally think of for a Thanksgiving table but I think it works well here.

2019.11.03g.jpg

I can’t remember where I found this turkey that I am using as a centerpiece. I have had it for a few years. I love the different textures and the mixture of colors and materials.

2019.11.03n.jpg

I just added other elements that were blue and brown to complete the look. For more information about everything else on this table please click here to read my blog post about it all.

2019.11.05r.jpg

This Thanksgiving tablescape idea started with the plates and small tureens. I have had these small turkey tureens for a long time. I found them on Ebay and I finally bought the matching salad plates and dinner plates on Ebay too. I still need a few more of the tureens but one shows up only once or twice a year on Ebay so buying a full set will take some time.

2019.11.05z.jpg

I used the same turkey centerpiece for this table that I used on the blue and brown Thanksgiving table. He matched perfectly.

2019.11.05t.jpg

For more information about everything else on this table please click here to read my blog post about it all.

2019.10.30c.jpg

In the fall there are many different turkey plate designs to choose from. I bought these turkey salad plates at HomeGoods several years ago. The back of the plate says, “Royal Stafford, made in Burslem, the heart of the Potteries, England”. I like the different colors included on the plate and the traditional turkey who is fat and fluffy.

2019.10.30i.jpg

I was looking for a turkey tureen to use as a centerpiece for a long time and I finally found this one several years ago. It was made by Spode and it was part of their Harvest Collection. I can’t remember where I found it. I really love it. It comes out the beginning of November and sits on the table or somewhere else until Christmas decorating starts.

2019.10.30n.jpg
