A Golden St. Patrick's Day Tablescape

This St. Patrick’s Day tablescape is a substitute for one that I was planning to do but had to postpone because one of the key elements for it hasn’t arrived yet. I finally gave up and gathered a different theme. I really need to start planning earlier! I came up with the idea for this tablescape just a few days ago. I bought the Martha Stewart tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago and this is the first time that I have used it on a tablescape. I really like the gold band on the tablecloth, it is a good match for the gold elements on this tablescape. I bought these Obrarte Shamrock ceramic salad plates on Ebay, a few at a time as I saw them over the years. I think that they are a good match for this tablecloth.

This is my favorite green dinner plate. It was made by Fiesta and the color was called Shamrock. That color has been discontinued now. I use this plate often during the year on tablescapes. I love the bright green color. I probably bought them at Macy’s online, I have had them for a long time.

I found these resin type bright green chargers at Michaels a few years ago I think.

The gold plated flatware on this tablescape was a gift from Hubby a few years ago. I had bought a cheap set of gold flatware several years ago. It was poor quality and the gold started flaking off. You get what you pay for! We found this set on major sale at Macys. It is made by Wallace and it is called Mikasa Duchess Gold. It is heavy and I love the elegant design on the handles. I think these green cotton napkins probably came from Pier 1 or HomeGoods several years ago. I found the plastic gold coins on Amazon a few days ago. I just attached them temporarily with masking tape to a white ceramic napkin ring that I have had for a long time. To read about the What, Where, and How of napkin rings please click here.

I bought these small plastic black kettles probably at Oriental Traders or Amazon online several years ago. I was going to use them on a Witch themed Halloween tablescape but I never did. I remembered that I had them and pulled them out. I found the tiny gold coins on Amazon a few days ago and Hubby packed the kettle for me with paper so that we could just spread them across the surface. I should have bought more! The gold Poly/Carb goblet on the left was made by Le Cadeaux and the pattern is called Fleur. We found them at a gift shop on one of our trips up the California coast a couple years ago but they were really expensive so we only bought a few of them. I had been looking for that color for a long time and after we got home, I found them much cheaper online so I bought a few more. The green plastic goblet on the right came from Pier 1 several years ago. If you read my blog, you have seen this goblet before a few times. I bought this large ceramic black kettle at Crate and Barrel online several years ago to use at Halloween. I put a towel in it so that I wouldn’t need to fill it with as many gold coins. I found the gold coins on Amazon a few days ago.

I searched for leprechaun with kettle on Amazon a few days ago and these small figures popped out. They were just what I needed for this tablescape!

Daffodils on a Spring Tablescape

This is the perfect tablescape to celebrate Spring just around the corner. I found this Ambesonne Daffodil tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago. Some of my daffodils are coming up in my garden right now. Emma Bridgewater Daffodil Salad Plate

I was looking for a salad plate that had daffodils on it and I found these. I love the colorful design with yellow daffodils and muscari (bluebells). A reader identified the blue flowers for me and I appreciate it! There is a small bug on a leaf at the bottom. I love Emma Bridgewater plates and all her dish designs, take a look. This cream colored earthenware is handmade and hand-painted in England.

Fiesta Daffodil Dinner Plate

I just love this Fiesta plate, the color is called Daffodil. I found them on sale in Salt Lake City at Smith’s when we were there a few years ago.

Villeroy and Boch Verona Blue Charger

This is one of my favorite glass chargers. I bought them when I first started tablescaping. They are a heavy blue glass and I love the color and the tweed like design in the glass. They were made by Villeroy and Boch and the pattern was called Verona. Not sure where I found them online. I have this charger in a few other colors as well. Frosted Green Madeline Flatware

Seems like every time I use this frosted green flatware I get questions and comments about it. It is called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market several years ago. If you google frosted flatware and add the color you are looking for you will find similar sets. I use this green flatware often in the Spring and the Fall. I can’t remember where I bought these blue napkins. The clear acrylic vase napkin rings came from Amazon a few years ago. They are made by Deco-Mate. I love being able to add small flower arrangements to the napkin rings.

I really love these small white vase place card holders. They often appear on one of my Spring tablescapes. I bought them on Amazon a few years ago. I bought the faux flowers at Michaels. I joined a website a couple years ago that sends me a list of all the Estate Sales in my area every weekend with photos of what is for sale. I am always looking for tablescaping items. Hubby bought this blue glass goblet with a clear stem set at an estate sale last year, I wish they had had more for sale. I love this goblet. It is a perfect blue color and I predict I will be using it often. It can be difficult to find yellow glass goblets that don’t have a gold tint to them so when I saw these yellow goblets on Etsy I immediately bought them. I love the color and the size of them. I don’t know who made them or what the pattern is called. I had the faux daffodils and small blue flowers already, they probably came from Michael’s or Hobby Lobby. They are in a large white pottery vase, one of a pair of identical white pottery vases that I inherited from my mother. She received them as a wedding present in 1938.

I love pairing blue and yellow together and daffodils are some of my favorite flowers!

A Pawsitively Unique Winter Tablescape

This tablescape is a recreation of a tablescape that I did three years ago but I changed the goblets and the plate stack. I saw this tablecloth online at Spoonflower a few years ago. The tablecloth was called Catstooth-Houndstooth with Cats, Jumbo Black and White Geometric Cats. It is their usual heavy broadcloth type fabric and it is well made.

I love the bold black and white cat graphics on this tablecloth.

I love cats and when I saw these black and white cat plates last year I knew that I had to have them because I knew I had created a black and white cat tablescape before and I could reuse those same items on another tablescape. I bought these plates at HomeGoods last year, they are marked Elum Home, Elum Designs Inc, San Diego California. I think that they came in a set of four with two different designs and I used both designs on this tablescape.

I love this peeking cat face!

I often use these black porcelain dinner plates on my tablescapes. They were made by 10 Strawberry Street and they are marked Classic Black Porcelain. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

This is a Mikasa Color Spectrum Charger in the color Alpine White. I have this charger in several different colors and I bought them all on Ebay as I saw them over a few years. The Internet says that this pattern was only made between 1992 and 1993. I am not sure that is true but in any case they are no longer being manufactured. I have been trying to get six of this white color and pattern for years with no success until last year when I suddenly found six at different places online after occasional google searches. You need to have patience when you are looking for things for tablescaping, that’s for sure!

A few years ago I wanted another set of black flatware that was all black and different from my Ginkgo International LePrix black set to use on my Halloween tablescapes and I found this set on sale at Macy’s online. It was made by Lenox and the pattern is called Portola. I love the simple design and shiny black color. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

These black cotton napkins came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. They are a really nice study cotton fabric in a true black color. So often black is actually a dark charcoal or dark gray but these are the perfect black color. I bought these metal white cat napkin rings on Etsy from JandyArt14. I love metal napkin rings because they will last forever and they can be repainted if needed.

Every time I look at this black cat place card holder it makes me smile. It is such a perfect match for this tablecloth. I found them online at FeelGift. (This site has some unique gift items but they are not inexpensive!) These place card holders were made by Decole Concombre. The white glass goblet on the left came from HomeGoods last year and it had a label that said Barsk Original. It’s difficult to find white goblets so I was happy to find this one. The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a few years ago. I knew I wanted a simple cat design for the centerpiece on this tablescape and I was looking for a black and white cat combination when I found these black and white cats online at Wayfair a few years ago. They were more than I wanted to spend but I liked them so much that I bought them and they sit out on a shelf all the time. I love their stretching poses. I saw that position so often when we had cats. These plates were called Stretching Cat Figurine and they were made by Red Barrel Studio. Hubby built a black wood stand for them because I wanted them to stand a bit taller on the table setting.

This tablescape certainly makes a bold statement!

Miss Blackbirdy's Valentine's Day Tablescape

This is the third tablescape that I have created using these Miss Blackbirdy plates, I did a previous one in 2023 and then before that in 2000. Each time I do a tablescape with these plates I change things up a bit. I really love these plates and when I bought them I bought the matching tablecloth and table runner as well. I can’t remember where I purchased it all but if you google the name some things with pop up. They are currently available online at Heritage Lace. I put the matching table runner down the table on top of the tablecloth on this tablescape because the tablecloth has a white center.

This is a 6 inch bread and butter plate. I really love the intricate black line designs on these white ceramic plates. You can see the blackbirds on this plate that give the dish set their name.

Each plate has this design and phrase on the back of the plate. The small heart hanging over the rim of the plate is wonderful!

This is the 9 inch salad plate. The design is similar to the smaller plate but it does not have the added design element around the rim.

This is the 12 inch dinner plate or charger although if you use it as a charger the wonderful design will be covered. I just love the designs on this plate, the large vase, the hearts, the bows, the abstract flowers, and the birds including one singing blackbird. There are a few purses and one shoe as well. On the lower right at about 5 o’clock you can see where the design goes over to the back of the plate to connect with that heart on the back, (shown in an earlier photo). Such a clever tiny addition to a wonderful design. These plates also come with a similar design with white on black and I bought those large plates as well. I really love these plates!

This is the dinner plate in white on black, it is a striking plate with great contrast. I love the blackbird in the center of the plate. I have used this plate as a charger on a Halloween tablescape before although it doesn’t show that much.

I set the dinner plate on this black charger. This black glass Starburst charger is called Charge It and it was made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes. A black charger with a simple design is a good starter charger plate if you are thinking about starting a tablescaping hobby.

This flatware set was made by D & D Inox in Italy and the pattern was called Roma. I bought them at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. I really like the marbleized design on the handles and the stainless quilted design. I liked this pattern and it was a really good sale so I have the same pattern in cream, amber, and dark aqua. I bought these black metal heart napkin rings at Pottery Barn online last year. I can’t remember where I bought the bright red cotton napkins but I love this shade of bright red!

Hubby found these red glass goblets on the left at HomeGoods a few years ago. I think the red glass goblets on the right came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago too. I had been looking for some more simple red goblets and grabbed these when I saw them online. If you are thinking about starting a tablescaping hobby, a red goblet is a must, you will use them often during the year. I wanted a simple centerpiece for this tablescape so I decided to use red roses in a black vase. I collected pottery for several years and I have a small collection of vintage black vases of different sizes and designs. I really like the size and the matte finish on this black vase. The faux red roses came from Michael’s.
