Happy Halloween! Best Witches!

For a change I did a purple, black, and white table this year for Halloween. I picked the theme black witches last year and started gathering what I needed. The table runner was made by someone on Etsy and the colors worked perfectly for what I wanted to do. I also got the napkins on Etsy as well as the witch napkin rings. I saw a witch design I liked and asked if they could make napkin rings, I really love the way they turned out.

The witch centerpieces came from Pier1. They were a distressed black and I am not a fan of distressed wood so my hubby spray painted them for me, love the way they turned out. The black studded pumpkin is from Pier1 as well as the place mats. Pier1 has good sales from time to time. The chargers are Bormioli Rocco Inca in purple and I bought them on sale on Amazon. Have a few other colors of this one, it is really heavy glass. The picture looks dark but it is a really pretty purple color. Found the purple goblets at HomeGoods. I was able to get 6 at one store and 6 at another one. The black goblets came from Ebay, they are Premiere by the Libbey Glass Company.

The silverware is Zaffiro Flatware, I think I got it on sale at Neiman Marcus. Over the years I bought 6 different colors because I love the way it looks. The dinner plate is Fiesta in purple, it is actually lighter in color than the photo shows. The white plate is more for spring tables but the butterfly design is hidden. It is by Lenox and is called Butterfly Meadow Cloud. I think I found them at HomeGoods. The black plate is by 10 Strawberry Street, I think it came from HomeGoods as well. I looked and looked for months for a plate with a witch on it but I wanted black and white only, no orange. Lots of witch plates but none black and white. I finally found these on Ebay, Crate and Barrel sold them a few years ago. I bought the black house place card holders on Ebay but they have them at Target, Hearth and Hand with Magnolia. It all came together finally, worked on this one for a long time!

Happy Fall, Y'all!

So it’s time for a fall table setting. I have been pondering this one for a while and finally pulled it together so we can enjoy it for a bit before the Halloween one. The tablecloth and print napkins are April Cornell from HomeGoods. I really love that leaf design. The green napkins are from Pier1 I think. I often buy napkins there on sale.

The pumpkin plate is from Sur la Table this year. I have been looking for a good pumpkin plate for some time and it is the perfect color. The dinner plate came from Pier1. It was part of their Spice Route Collection, color pumpkin, but looks like they are sold out of that color. Not sure where I got the wicker charger but if you google it several places have similar ones. The Madeline green flatware is available at World Market. I use this flatware often in the fall months.

The Tortoise shell napkin rings came from HomeGoods. The pumpkin place card holders came from Crate and Barrel. I bought the salt and pepper shakers on ebay. The centerpiece pumpkin tureen and platter came from Pier1 a few years ago and I have individual pumpkin soup bowls that match, I really love the swirly pattern. We bought the glass pumpkins on a long weekend up the coast a few years ago. The green goblets came from Pier1, I use them often in table settings. The amber and green goblets are from Mexico, I bought them online but can’t remember where. I think the tablecloth really pulls it all together!

By the beautiful sea

I live about a mile and a half from the Pacific Ocean and I have wanted to put together a beachy theme tablescape for a while.  Been mulling it over in my mind for awhile and finally pulled it all together and it seems appropriate with the hot weather outside.

We saw the whale centerpiece on a long weekend my husband and I took a few years ago.  It was really expensive so we passed on it.  But I found it later online and because it was a second with an imperfection, it was much cheaper and I bought it.  I often have it out in the summertime.  Took the photo before I added flowers.

I used to collect glass blown animals starting when I was about 10.  As an adult I continued to collect glass animals and other glass objects until I ran out of room.  The glass octopus has always been one of my favorites. The Waterford glass conch shell, a gift from my husband,  is heavy and another of my favorites.  My husband bought the glass starfish for me from a glassblower in Laguna Beach many many years ago.  There is a funny family story about it breaking many years ago (since mended) and to this day no one in the family will admit who did it. The seashells came from a trip to Baja early in our marriage or from a vacation trip to the Carolinas or were part of a group I bought somewhere. The clear goblets are my Waterford Lismore wedding crystal and the vintage blue hobnail goblets came from ebay.

The beaded chargers came from Williams Sonoma a few years ago. I watch and wait till things I like go on sale.  The blue melamine dinner plates came from HomeGoods as did the white salad plates.  The small crab plate is made by 222 Fifth and is part of a set of four that includes the crab, a seahorse (first photo) , an octopus and a starfish. There are similar sets for sale on ebay. I purchased the plastic napkin rings on Etsy, I have them in other colors also.  I bought the white napkins recently at Pier1, they often have good sales on napkins. The flatware is Vietri Aladdin in Aqua and I got it on sale at Bloomingdale's. I bought a gray set as well, that's a difficult color to find. I love the crossed design and the frosted color. Can't remember where I got the starfish place card holders.  By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea!
