A Turkey on the Thanksgiving Tablescape

Every Thanksgiving season I have to pull out my large Turkey tureen to use on a tablescape and it often sits out throughout the month of November as a decoration somewhere. I actually created this tablescape in 2020 and saved the photos in 2021 but I guess I never posted it because I can’t find it on my blog. Weird. The cream tablecloth probably came from HomeGoods or Amazon a few years ago.

I bought these turkey salad plates several years ago at Pottery Barn online. The pattern is called Botanical Harvest Turkey. They must be a best seller because they seem to have them in stock every year. I used them four years ago on a Thanksgiving tablescape with blue as the accent color. You can see that tablescape here. These plates have a brighter and more colorful design than some of the other salad turkey plates that I have seen online.

This dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route Collection, each plate was named after a spice and this one was called Pumpkin. I have a few other plates in that collection and I often use them on my tablescapes this time of year because they are all perfect fall colors. This is Mikasa’s Color Spectrum charger in the color Burgundy. They don’t make them any more but you can find them on the secondary market from time to time. If you read my blog you have seen this charger pattern in other colors as well. I love these chargers, they are well made and heavy. This gold plated flatware was a gift from Hubby a few years ago. I had bought a cheap set of gold flatware several years ago. It was poor quality and the gold started flaking off. You get what you pay for! We found this set on major sale at Macys. It is made by Wallace and is called Mikasa Duchess Gold. It is heavy and I love the elegant design on the handles. I can’t remember where I bought these napkins, they have been in my tablescaping collection for many years. It was probably either Pier 1 or HomeGoods. The colors work really well on a Fall or Thanksgiving tablescape. I think I found the turkey napkin rings online on Ebay several years ago. The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. The green acrylic goblet on the right is a good match for a fall table setting and it came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago too. I looked for a turkey tureen to use as a centerpiece for a long time and I finally found this one several years ago. It was made by Spode and it was part of their Harvest Collection. I can’t remember where I found it online. I absolutely love it, the colors, the relief design, it is perfect!

These turkey salt and pepper sets probably came from Amazon or HomeGoods a few years ago.

Black Jack-o'-lanterns on a Halloween Tablescape

Time for one more Halloween tablescape before we move into Thanksgiving table settings. I love this Halloween tablecloth from Spoonflower online. I bought it a couple of years ago.

I found these Place and Time melamine black jack-o’-lantern salad plates at JOANN’S last year. Last year I had decided that this year I wanted to use jack-o’-lantern plates that were black and I was really happy to find these.

I bought these Mason stoneware dinner plates at Pottery Barn online last year. The color was called wheat. I really like this plate and I am thinking about buying it in another color. You can read about what you need to think about when you are buying dinner plates here.

This black plastic acrylic charger came from tableclothsFACTORY online a couple of months ago. I was happy with the relatively inexpensive price for six chargers. This cream colored flatware set was made by D & D Inox in Italy. I bought it at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale a few years ago. These black cotton napkins came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. They are a really nice study cotton fabric in a true black color. These wonderful vintage looking Legigo jack-o’-lantern metal napkin rings came from Amazon two years ago. When I saw them I immediately knew that I would use them often during Halloween season. These are one of my favorite sets of goblets for Halloween Tablescapes. I often use black and orange goblets on my Halloween tablescapes but this black goblet is a newer addition to my goblet collection. I bought them a few years ago. I have black goblets that are shorter than this goblet and black goblets that are much taller than this goblet but I wanted goblets this height that were all black. I was delighted to find these black plastic ones on Amazon last year. The advertisement said that they are disposable but I plan to keep them for a while until I can find some black glass ones that are the same height. I think I bought these orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx several years ago. They were some of the first goblets I bought when I started tablescaping. I love using them this time of year. I found this large black metal jack-o’-lantern online at Pottery Barn last year. I wanted the cutouts to be orange for this table setting so I taped orange paper inside to cover the openings.

Jack-o'-lanterns on a Halloween Tablescape

I just love this tablecloth for this tablescape, I love it! This was a case of buying the tablecloth after I had decided on everything else, something I never do. I usually have a tablecloth in mind at the beginning of my planning. I knew that I needed a more rust colored orange on the tablecloth to match the rust colored orange on the centerpiece and jack-o’-lantern goblets and after checking (once my tablescape planning was way down the line already) all my Halloween tablecloths were a brighter orange and wouldn’t work. Panic! So I checked all my usual tablecloth sources online and found this one on Amazon. It is made by Ambesonne and they call it Ambesonne Rustic Tablecloth, Vertical Wooden Planks. Such a perfect background for a Halloween tablescape, I know I will use it again and again. I couldn’t believe my luck! Sometimes I see something and I can just visualize how it might look with other elements on a tablescape.

I found these ceramic jack o’ lantern salad plates at Pottery Barn several years ago. I had been looking for a simple jack o’ lantern plate for a couple of years and I was so happy to find this one. If you google jack-o’-lantern salad plate you might find something similar.

This black porcelain dinner plate was made by 10 Strawberry Street. I love having basic color dinner plates that I can use over and over again when I need them on a plate stack. The pattern was called Black Classic Porcelain. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

I wanted another set of black flatware that was all black and different from my Ginkgo International LePrix black set to use on my Halloween tablescapes and I found this set two years ago on sale at Macy’s online. It was made by Lenox and the pattern is called Portola. I love the simple design and shiny black color. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

I found these Department 56 Mercury Glass Jack-o’-lantern place card holders on Ebay a few years ago. I love place card holders, they can add such a fun element to a themed tablescape. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

I bought these black goblets on Ebay several years ago, they were some of the first goblets that I bought for my tablescaping collection. They are Lenox Midnight Mood black glass water goblets and they were made between 1974 and 1982. They are shorter than I usually like to use, I like taller goblets, but I wanted the height to be closer to the other goblet. These wonderful jack-o’-lantern goblets were designed by Johanna Parker and are also labeled Transpac, Every Day is a Holiday. You can find them online with a google search at several different places. It looks like there were two different goblet face designs. I bought them a few at a time online wherever I could find them for a good price several months ago.

This Johanna Parker cookie jar design matches the goblets. I set it on a small black cake stand that I found at HomeGoods last year. Now I can’t remember where I bought the cookie jar (it might have been Ebay) online but a google search will turn up several sources. I really love many of Johanna Parker’s designs and this jack-o’-lantern design is one of my favorites.

I have had this jack-o’-lantern salt and pepper set for a few years and I can’t remember where I found it.

I found this salt and pepper set a few years ago at Roger’s Gardens, a nursery and gift shop in the next County. I knew this Johanna Parker design would match the goblets and centerpiece on this Halloween tablescape.

I love creating Halloween Tablescapes especially when Johanna Parker designs are involved.

Haunted Houses on a Halloween Tablescape

I love using buffalo print tablecloths from time to time. This black and white buffalo print tablecloth lends itself well to a Halloween theme. I found this tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago. It came from allcottonandlinen.com. It is heavy cotton and it is really easy to iron with a steam iron. I love the fabric. This is the third Haunted House Halloween tablescape that I have created. You can see the other two Haunted House tablescapes that I did before here and here. They all use some of the same elements but they are all different.

I have a large collection of different Halloween themed salad plates, they seem to be a weakness of mine. I found these haunted house salad plates on Ebay a few years ago after looking for quite a while for something that I liked. They were originally sold by Target in sets of four.

I have this Ginkgo International Le Prix flatware set in black and red and over the years I added yellow, moss green, and this color called persimmon. I love using this set during the Halloween season. I can’t remember where I bought the set online but if you google it, something will probably pop up. I bought all the sets online I think. These bright orange napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1 several years ago. JandyArt14 on Etsy made the black metal haunted house napkin rings for me a few years ago. They have made witch and cat napkin rings for me before too. I love metal napkin rings because they won’t break, they will last for a long long time, and they can be used over and over again. I found this stoneware Haunted House Lidded Candy Bowl earlier last year at Pottery Barn online. It is sitting on a wood stand that I bought at Pier 1 a few years ago for a bit more height. The stand was a natural wood color but Hubby painted it white for me to use on one tablescape and then black for a few other tablescapes including this one.
