Pumpkins on a Fall Tablescape

I had been thinking about a Fall tablescape without a tablecloth ever since I found these pumpkin placemats last year. This table started out one direction and ended up going another one as they sometimes do depending on how things mesh together.

I really love these pumpkin salad plates and I try to use them on at least one Fall tablescape every year. I bought them several years ago at Sur La Table online. I had been looking for a good pumpkin plate for some time and they were the perfect color.

I bought these Mason stoneware dinner plates at Pottery Barn online a few years ago. The color was called wheat. I really like this plate and I am thinking about buying it in another color. You can read about what you need to think about when you are buying dinner plates here.

I bought these pumpkin woven chargers at Pottery Barn online a few years ago at the end of the season when they were on sale. I knew I would be using them on a Fall tablescape someday.

This marblelized light brown and cream flatware set is marked EM3 Inox 18/10, Made in Italy. I can’t remember where I bought the set online, I have had it for a few years. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. I think I bought the orange glass goblets on the right at Ross or T.J. Maxx several years ago. They were some of the first goblets that I bought when I started tablescaping. When I bought them I figured I wouldn’t use them that often but I am surprised at how often they appear on my tablescapes. This rattan pumpkin centerpiece came from Pottery Barn online a few years ago. I set it on an orange place mat that I have had for many years.

I am ready for Fall and cooler weather!

Soup Time? Set a Fall Pumpkin Tablescape!

This is a table setting that I have posted before but it is one of my favorite Fall tablescapes so I am posting it again. The sage green tablecloth probably came from Amazon, I have had it for a while.

These small pumpkin tureens came from Pier 1 several years ago. They are my absolute favorite pumpkin dishes. I love the color and the raised design.

This is the matching salad plate in the same design from Pier 1. This raised design with all the curlicues is wonderful!

This dinner plate also came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Clove. I like the beaded design around the rim. This shade of green is a great shade for Fall tables and I use it frequently during the fall season. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

These rattan chargers were among some of the first tablescape items I bought several years ago. I think I bought them at World Market but if you google rattan charger you can find them several places.

I found these sage green crochet doily place mats at Bed, Bath, and Beyond a few years ago. I wish they had come in other colors too because I really like the ruffled edge and the way it sets off whatever is on top of it. You can just see a hint of them on this tablescape but I decided to use them anyway because they add a nice contrast to the rattan. Some say that you shouldn’t use a place mat with a tablecloth but I do it anyway sometimes!

I am using my Madeline Green flatware on this table, I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. It is one of my most used flatware sets. If you are developing a tablescaping collection be sure to find some flatware in a green color like this set. You will use it often! These bright plaid napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1. I have had them for several years. I love using them during the Fall season. The plastic pumpkin napkin rings came from Ebay several years ago. To read about the what, where and how of napkin rings please click here.

These orange ceramic pumpkin name cards came from Hobby Lobby on sale a few years ago. I love the bright orange color. You can use a water-based pen or marker on them that can be erased for future reuse. They are great for labeling food on a buffet table too. They had sunflowers and brown leaves also and I bought them as well. You can see the sunflower one on my Sunflower tablescape here. I think I bought these orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx. They were some of the first goblets I bought several years ago. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I have, especially this time of year. Dollar stores often have plastic goblets in bright colors during the spring and summer, the price can’t be beat! They have great glass goblets too. I bought the green acrylic goblets a couple years ago online at Home Depot. They are made by Certified International and they come in other colors too. This green is a great basic green color if you are looking for a green goblet to start your tablescaping collection. This salt and pepper set came from Pier 1 several years ago and matches the tureens and plates.

This salt and pepper set came with the napkin rings when I bought them on Ebay a couple years ago.

I love this large pumpkin tureen and the matching ladle spoon. I wanted a bit more height so I set it on one of my small green Depression Glass bowls. It came from Pier 1 as well, several years ago.

Sunflowers on a Fall Tablescape

With Fall around the corner, it’s time for a Sunflower tablescape. I did a Sunflower tablescape before a few years ago but this one is a bit different. I found this sunflower tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. It was made by Fiesta.

I bought these earthenware sunflower salad plates at our Pier 1 store several years ago before it closed. The pattern was called Sunflower.

This is a Fiesta dinner plate, the color is called Butterscotch. I bought them on sale a few years ago at Smith’s in Salt Lake City. I bought six and now I wish I had bought more. I have this dinner plate in several different colors now and they are in constant use on my tablescapes. You can read about what you need to think about when you are buying dinner plates here.

This frosted green flatware set often appears on at least one fall tablescape every year. I bought the set at World Market several years ago and the pattern was called Madeline Green . I think I bought these green cotton napkins at either World Market or Pier 1 several years ago. They are a great color for fall tablescapes. I can’t remember where I found the sunflower napkin rings but if you google sunflower napkin ring, several different designs will pop out. I bought the green acrylic goblet on the left a few years ago online at Home Depot. They are made by Certified International. I can’t remember where I bought the amber colored acrylic iced tea on the right. I have had them for several years. They are a good match for this tablecloth. I have gathered a good collection of faux flowers over the years and I can’t remember where I bought these faux sunflowers but Michaels always has them. I put them in a Fiesta vase, the vase color is called Daffodil. I love this vase and I have it in a few different colors.

I added a couple sets of sunflower salt and peppers to the table that I found on Amazon.

I love the colors on this tablescape, they really say Fall to me.

A Red Barn Tablescape for Fall

I love old barns and I especially love old red barns. I drove across the country and back several times over the years and I also took the train back and forth a few times too. (I love road trips and riding trains and I don’t fly.) I would always be fascinated by all the wonderful old barns I saw along the way. This tablescape is a tribute to all of them. I have had this green tablecloth for several years, I bought it on Amazon. I love this color for a Fall tablecloth or for Thanksgiving. I used it on one of my Thanksgiving tablescapes some years ago. It is a green tweed color and it is perfect for the Fall season. (This tablescape is a repeat of one that I did a few years ago. From time to time I repeat tablescapes that are favorites of mine for new readers.)

I had seen these red barn plates several times over the years and when I started looking for barn salad plates, they popped up and I knew I wanted to develop a tablescape around them. I bought four of them at Mercari online and three more at Replacements, Ltd. online a few years ago. The designs were copyrighted in 1998 by Warren Kimble for Sakura, New York and the series was called Barns. The salad plates were made between 1998 and 2002 and there were four different barns in the series.

This green stoneware dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route series and each color was named a different spice. This one was called Clove. I love this plate for Fall and Thanksgiving tablescapes and if you read my blog you see it often during those times of the year. This charger was made by Juliska Ceramics and the pattern was called Berry and Thread, color Ruby. I like plates with interesting rim designs because it adds something unique to the plate stack. I bought these chargers a few chargers at a time over a couple of years several years ago until I had the number I needed. I can’t remember where I bought them but it was online and probably from several different sites. This charger is a deeper red, almost a brick red. These charger plates are no longer in production. These barn napkins were made by a seller on Etsy who has made napkin sets for me several times over the past few years, Meg from ME2Designs. When I can’t find napkins to match my tablescape theme I contact Meg and tell her what I am looking for and she finds samples of fabrics and sends me photos to choose from. I told her I wanted barns and she found this fabric and it was perfect for this tablescape. I love all the different barns that are shown and I see an outhouse too! The metal red barn napkin rings were a challenge. I ordered them from one place online and they were suddenly on back order. Then I ordered them from another place online and suddenly they were on back order there too. I finally found them at Walmart online a few years ago and I bought them there. My daughter-in-law gave me these cute tree place card holders. She used them for a themed party for my son several years ago and then said I could have them. But she has started tablescaping too so I found a set for me and I will return them to her so she can use them. To read about the what, where and how of place card holders, please click here.

I looked for a long time for a red barn cookie jar and I finally bought this one online at Country Village Shoppe a few years ago. It needed more height so it is sitting on a couple of my green Depression Glass bowls.

I suddenly remembered this red barn that I received as a gift several years ago and I added it to the tablescape. It was part of Jim Shore’s Heartwood Creek collection and it was called Red Barn, Strength And Plenty. He copyrighted the design in 2004 and it was licensed by Enesco.

To balance the table, on the other side of the centerpiece, I added a Mosser Glass red salt and pepper set that I bought online at The Vermont Country Store a few years ago.

We plan another trip across the country maybe next year sometime, more barns to see!
