Pine Trees on a Winter Tablescape

Pine trees always remind me of the place where I grew up near the High Sierra and our mountain cabin. We hope to get up that way again soon. This tablescape theme has been in the back of my mind for several years but other ideas pushed it to the back burner. I have had this tablecloth for several years but I can’t remember where it came from. It might have been Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn.

I bought these pine tree salad plates at Crate and Barrel a few years ago. I like the pine trees design. (I get a kick out of the fact that since I posted this a couple people have told me that this plate is upside down… like the white branches should face up…) Lol!

Fiesta White Dinner Plate

I bought these Fiesta white dinner plates in Salt Lake City a few years ago. They were 30% off, a great sale, and I couldn’t resist them because I only have one other simple basic white dinner plate in my dish collection and it is a larger size than this.

Mikasa Color Spectrum Hunter Green Charger

This hunter green charger often appears on one of my Christmas tablescapes during the Christmas season. They were made by Mikasa and the pattern was called Color Spectrum. I bought them a few at a time as I found them on Ebay several years ago. I have them in several colors now because they are some of my favorite chargers. The size is perfect for a charger and they are heavy and well made.

D & D Inox Roma Flatware

This flatware was made by D & D Inox in Italy and the pattern is called Roma. I bought them at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. There are similar patterns available online now. I really like the marbleized design on the handles so I bought the set in a few other colors as well.

These red cotton napkins probably came from Pier 1 or HomeGoods several years ago. The tablecloth has small red cardinals and small red stars so I decided to add more touches of red to the table setting. The green ceramic pine tree napkin rings with a white star are probably vintage and I probably bought them on Ebay several years ago.

These metal pine tree place card holders were made by Style Me Pretty and I probably bought them at Michael’s a few years ago. I think they were black and Hubby painted them green for me. The place cards came from Amazon.

I think the red glass goblet on the left came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. I had been looking for some simple red goblets and grabbed these when I saw them online. Now I wish I had ordered more of them. The goblet on the right is my red Waterford Marquis Brookside goblet. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. If you read my blog you have seen this goblet on several tablescapes. I think if I were starting a tablescaping hobby, a set of red goblets would be one of my first purchases. They can be used several times a year.

I knew I wanted some kind of simple wood pine tree for a centerpiece on this tablescape so I went online and looked around. I found this set of wood pine trees at Hobby Lobby but the trees were different colors and patterns. I decided to go and take a look at the set and Hubby went with me. When I saw it I knew Hubby could paint it for me and he agreed. I am really happy with the way it turned out and I can use it as a Christmas decoration too.

I think this is the perfect tablescape to start the Christmas Season at our house.

12 Buffalo Plaid Tablescape Ideas

I love buffalo plaid tablecloths and I have several of them that I have collected over the years. Some people think they make a table setting look too busy but I am not one of those people! I decided to repost twelve tablescapes that I have done in the past using buffalo plaid, at least one tablescape for every season.

A Buffalo Plaid Christmas Tablescape

Since Christmas is coming soon, I decided to start with this tablescape. I posted it last year right before Christmas, it would be perfect for a Christmas Eve gathering. I found the black and red buffalo plaid tablecloth on Amazon last year. I think this black and red pattern evokes such a cosy feeling and I love combining black and red together on a table setting. A Buffalo Plaid Winter Tablescape

I posted this Winter Pine Cone tablescape almost two years ago. It would be perfect for a mountain cabin in the wintertime or just a cozy wintertime dinner at home. I found this black and white buffalo plaid tablecloth at Amazon a few years ago. It is heavy cotton and I really like the material. I am sentimental about pine cones because my family had a mountain cabin for many many years when I was growing up and we have a small cabin now in the High Sierra. A Buffalo Plaid Valentine’s Day Tablescape

It wouldn’t be Valentine’s Day without a tablescape with some red on it. This is another tablescape with a black and red color combination but the buffalo plaid tablecloth is just black and white. I posted this one this last February for Valentine’s Day. I bought this Cotton Craft black and white buffalo print tablecloth on Amazon earlier this year. If you look closely, you can see that the squares are just a bit smaller on this tablecloth than the previous Pine Cone tablescape that I shared. A Buffalo Plaid Yellow Tablescape for Spring

I posted this tablescape in the Spring of 2020. I wanted a bright and cheerful Spring look and I think this tablescape illustrated that. The yellow and white buffalo plaid tablecloth also came from Amazon. I bought it in the spring of 2020. Although the plaids on this table setting are different scales they work well together. A Buffalo Plaid Spring Barbeque Picnic Tablescape

I posted this buffalo plaid Spring Picnic tablescape last spring. I am not sure where I found the red buffalo print tablecloth but it is one of my favorites, heavy cotton and a great color, a true red. I have had it for several years I think. A red and white buffalo plaid tablecloth always brings to mind a picnic in the park or the backyard for that matter. It is such a bright and cheerful design. A Buffalo Plaid Spring Bumblebee Tablescape

This was such a fun tablescape to pull together. I love the combination of yellow and black, they just pop together! I posted this tablescape a year ago this past spring. I found the black and white buffalo check tablecloth on Amazon a couple years ago. It’s the same one that I used on the Pine Cone tablescape. It is heavy cotton and it is really easy to iron with a steam iron. There is something striking about a black and white color combination and when you add another bright color as well it all really jumps out at you. A Buffalo Plaid Summer Ants Tablescape

I posted this Summer Picnic tablescape this past summer. It’s the same tablecloth that I used on the Barbeque tablescape that I posted above. I am not sure where I found it but as I mentioned, it is one of my favorites, heavy cotton, and a great color, a true red. I have had it for a few years. When I create a picnic themed tablescape, this is always the tablecloth I reach for. I was so happy when I found the napkins and salad plates for this table setting, they were a great match! A Buffalo Plaid Country Farm Tablescape

I can’t really remember how the idea for this Buffalo Plaid Country Farm tablescape came to me. I posted it this last summer. The tablecloth is the same one I used on the Valentine’s Day tablescape above. I think I looked for salad plates with farm animals on them and this black and white cow plate design made me think of my Buffalo Plaid black and white tablecloth so I started with that. I really love how all the different elements came together on this table setting, the napkins, the napkin rings, the place card holders. It all just goes together very well. A Buffalo Plaid Summer Watermelon Tablescape

I posted this Buffalo Plaid Summer Watermelon tablescape three summers ago using the same red and white buffalo plaid tablecloth that you have seen twice before above. The red and green color combination is another one of my favorite color pairings. This is a great tablecloth to use on a Summer tablescape. The napkins, while they are very different from the tablecloth, work really well with this tablecloth. A Buffalo Plaid Halloween Tablescape

I posted this Buffalo Plaid Halloween tablescape in October 2019 and it has been one of my most popular Halloween tablescapes. This black and white buffalo plaid tablecloth has gotten quite a bit of use. It came from Amazon. Using the traditional black and orange Halloween colors on top of a Buffalo Plaid tablecloth creates a festive design for a favorite holiday. The contrasting white color just makes everything pop. A Buffalo Plaid Halloween Tablescape

This second Buffalo Plaid Halloween tablescape with a black and orange buffalo plaid tablecloth has similar colors to the one above it except for the removal of the color white. I posted it at Halloween time two years ago and it is one of my favorites. I bought this black and orange buffalo print tablecloth at Bed, Bath & Beyond online a few years ago. Here is another tablescape using my black and white buffalo tablecloth. This time everything is black and white. It never fails that when I post a tablescape using only two colors at least one person always butts in and says that I should have added another color. (It is the last tablescape of mine that they will ever see…) I chose my tablescape colors carefully and deliberately, there is a reason behind every one of my choices. Leaves on a Fall Tablescape

I didn’t have the time to really plan a brand new tablescape this week. I had left this tablecloth and centerpiece on the table while I was gone so I decide to just leave them and plan a Fall tablescape around them, my last Fall tablescape of the season. This tablecloth is an April Cornell design and I found it at HomeGoods a few years ago. I used this same tablecloth on a Fall tablescape (you can see that tablescape here) and a Fall Tablescape that I created a few years ago (you can see that tablescape here). It is interesting to see the small changes that I made between those two tablescapes and how they differ from this one, all with the same tablecloth.

These salad plates were made by 222 Fifth PTS International and the pattern was called Fall Foliage. I found them at HomeGoods several years ago. They were made between 2013 and 2016. They are a good match for this tablecloth, similar but different.

This dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route Collection, each plate was named after a spice and this one was called Pumpkin. I have a few other plates from this collection and I often use them on my tablescapes this time of year because they are all perfect fall colors. I have had these copper colored glass charger plates for several years, I think I bought them on Amazon. They are a warm rich color and they accent the tablecloth. They were made by Bormioli Rocco, an Italian company, and the pattern was called Inca. I have them in a few other colors as well. They are heavy glass and I really love how solid they are and the textured design.

This marblelized light brown and cream flatware is marked EM3 Inox 18/10, Made in Italy. I can’t remember where I bought the set online, I have had it for a few years. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

These napkins match the tablecloth and they were made by April CornelI. I bought them at HomeGoods with the tablecloth. I found the metal fall leaf napkin rings online at The Country Village Shoppe a couple of years ago. They were made by Park Designs and the set came with four different colors and designs.

I used two of the colors on this tablescape, the orange and the yellow napkin rings.

I found these metal leaf place card holders on Etsy a few years ago. The colors are a perfect match for this tablecloth.

The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. The orange amber glass goblet on the right came from HomeGoods a few years ago. it doesn’t have a maker’s mark. There is definitely a story behind these copper leaf pumpkins that I am using as a centerpiece on this tablescape. I regularly read a blog that another Southern California resident writes. She wrote a blog post about how to create copper leaf pumpkins using imitation leaf from Amazon in the color Rose Gold. It looked like an easy craft so I bought everything that she recommended using to make them. I was going try the craft myself but I decided to assign it to Hubby. He is retired and sometimes needs something to do… I am really impressed with what a great job he did on them. Now I am trying to figure out what else he can copper leaf!

I added my trademark themed salt and pepper sets on each side of the center pumpkins, just a little something to break up the space. They probably came from Amazon.

I love the way the light reflects off the centerpiece pumpkins.

Dragons on a Chinese Year of the Dragon Tablescape

This tablescape celebrates Chinese New Year and The Year of the Dragon. I probably bought this tablecloth at HomeGoods or Amazon.

I bought these dragon salad plates at Williams Sonoma online a few years ago. They came in a set of four with four different designs. I love the vivid graphic colors on these plates.

I knew that I wanted a red charger and a blue dinner plate under the dragon plates but I didn’t have the correct shade of red or blue for either that I liked so I switched to a red dinner plate and a navy blue charger. This red/orange dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Paprika. I use this plate often in the fall. This charger is one of my Color Spectrum chargers made by Mikasa, the color is Navy Blue. I bought them a few at a time as I saw them on Ebay several years ago. I have them in several colors. These are actually some of my favorite chargers. I love the strong solid colors and they are heavy and a good quality.

This gold plated flatware was a gift from Hubby a few Christmases ago. I had bought a cheap set of gold flatware several years ago. It was poor quality and the gold started flaking off. You get what you pay for! We found this set on major sale at Macys. It is made by Wallace and is called Mikasa Duchess Gold. It is brighter than this photo shows and it is heavy. These red napkins came from HomeGoods a few years ago. They are from Ralph Lauren and they have a brocade type design on them. They are one of my favorite napkins and I bought the matching tablecloth too. I bought these Fennco Styles dragon napkin rings on Amazon. They were silver colored and Hubby painted them dark red and navy blue for me to go with this table setting.

I wanted a dragon place card holder and I couldn’t find any so I bought some toy plastic dragons on Amazon and Hubby painted them for me, problem solved!

The dark blue acrylic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale a couple years ago before our store closed. The red goblets on the right were made by Cristal D’Arques-Durand and the pattern was called Antique Ruby. They are a pressed glass diamond and fan pattern. I think I bought them years ago a few at a time on Ebay until I had a set. They were made between 1990 and 2008. This colorful dragon figure is one of the reasons why I decided to do a dragon themed tablescape. Hubby brought it back from China many years ago on one of his business trips there. It usually sits on a shelf in the living room. He made a wood stand for it for this tablescape because I wanted it to be a bit taller than it was.

I added a dragon salt and pepper set from Amazon on one side of the center dragon.

On the other side of the center dragon I added this small glass dragon. I have had it for a long time and I can’t remember where it came from. I used to collect small glass animals and it was part of that collection I think.
