Leaves on a Fall Tablescape

I didn’t have the time to really plan a brand new tablescape this week. I had left this tablecloth and centerpiece on the table while I was gone so I decide to just leave them and plan a Fall tablescape around them, my last Fall tablescape of the season. This tablecloth is an April Cornell design and I found it at HomeGoods a few years ago. I used this same tablecloth on a Fall tablescape (you can see that tablescape here) and a Fall Tablescape that I created a few years ago (you can see that tablescape here). It is interesting to see the small changes that I made between those two tablescapes and how they differ from this one, all with the same tablecloth.

These salad plates were made by 222 Fifth PTS International and the pattern was called Fall Foliage. I found them at HomeGoods several years ago. They were made between 2013 and 2016. They are a good match for this tablecloth, similar but different.

This dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route Collection, each plate was named after a spice and this one was called Pumpkin. I have a few other plates from this collection and I often use them on my tablescapes this time of year because they are all perfect fall colors. I have had these copper colored glass charger plates for several years, I think I bought them on Amazon. They are a warm rich color and they accent the tablecloth. They were made by Bormioli Rocco, an Italian company, and the pattern was called Inca. I have them in a few other colors as well. They are heavy glass and I really love how solid they are and the textured design.

This marblelized light brown and cream flatware is marked EM3 Inox 18/10, Made in Italy. I can’t remember where I bought the set online, I have had it for a few years. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying flatware here.

These napkins match the tablecloth and they were made by April CornelI. I bought them at HomeGoods with the tablecloth. I found the metal fall leaf napkin rings online at The Country Village Shoppe a couple of years ago. They were made by Park Designs and the set came with four different colors and designs.

I used two of the colors on this tablescape, the orange and the yellow napkin rings.

I found these metal leaf place card holders on Etsy a few years ago. The colors are a perfect match for this tablecloth.

The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. There is definitely a story behind these copper leaf pumpkins that I am using as a centerpiece on this tablescape. I regularly read a blog that another Southern California resident writes. She wrote a blog post about how to create copper leaf pumpkins using imitation leaf from Amazon in the color Rose Gold. It looked like an easy craft so I bought everything that she recommended using to make them. I was going try the craft myself but I decided to assign it to Hubby. He is retired and sometimes needs something to do… I am really impressed with what a great job he did on them. Now I am trying to figure out what else he can copper leaf!

I added my trademark themed salt and pepper sets on each side of the center pumpkins, just a little something to break up the space. They probably came from Amazon.

I love the way the light reflects off the centerpiece pumpkins.

Dragons on a Chinese Year of the Dragon Tablescape

This tablescape celebrates Chinese New Year and The Year of the Dragon. I probably bought this tablecloth at HomeGoods or Amazon.

I bought these dragon salad plates at Williams Sonoma online a few years ago. They came in a set of four with four different designs. I love the vivid graphic colors on these plates.

I knew that I wanted a red charger and a blue dinner plate under the dragon plates but I didn’t have the correct shade of red or blue for either that I liked so I switched to a red dinner plate and a navy blue charger. This red/orange dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Paprika. I use this plate often in the fall. This charger is one of my Color Spectrum chargers made by Mikasa, the color is Navy Blue. I bought them a few at a time as I saw them on Ebay several years ago. I have them in several colors. These are actually some of my favorite chargers. I love the strong solid colors and they are heavy and a good quality.

This gold plated flatware was a gift from Hubby a few Christmases ago. I had bought a cheap set of gold flatware several years ago. It was poor quality and the gold started flaking off. You get what you pay for! We found this set on major sale at Macys. It is made by Wallace and is called Mikasa Duchess Gold. It is brighter than this photo shows and it is heavy. These red napkins came from HomeGoods a few years ago. They are from Ralph Lauren and they have a brocade type design on them. They are one of my favorite napkins and I bought the matching tablecloth too. I bought these Fennco Styles dragon napkin rings on Amazon. They were silver colored and Hubby painted them dark red and navy blue for me to go with this table setting.

I wanted a dragon place card holder and I couldn’t find any so I bought some toy plastic dragons on Amazon and Hubby painted them for me, problem solved!

The dark blue acrylic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale a couple years ago before our store closed. The red goblets on the right were made by Cristal D’Arques-Durand and the pattern was called Antique Ruby. They are a pressed glass diamond and fan pattern. I think I bought them years ago a few at a time on Ebay until I had a set. They were made between 1990 and 2008. This colorful dragon figure is one of the reasons why I decided to do a dragon themed tablescape. Hubby brought it back from China many years ago on one of his business trips there. It usually sits on a shelf in the living room. He made a wood stand for it for this tablescape because I wanted it to be a bit taller than it was.

I added a dragon salt and pepper set from Amazon on one side of the center dragon.

On the other side of the center dragon I added this small glass dragon. I have had it for a long time and I can’t remember where it came from. I used to collect small glass animals and it was part of that collection I think.

Pilgrims on a Thanksgiving Tablescape

For a few years I collected pilgrim figures mostly salt and pepper sets because both my husband and I have pilgrim ancestors who came over on the Mayflower. He is a direct descendent of Governor William Bradford, eight generations ago. The kids used to have fun telling their classmates about it when they were young. Actually if you have ancestors who lived in New England in the 1600’s and 1700’s you probably have some pilgrim ancestors too. There are hundreds of thousands of Mayflower descendents. I decided it was time to do a Pilgrim tablescape instead of the usual Turkey theme but it wasn’t easy to pull this one together. The cream tablecloth probably came from HomeGoods or Amazon a few years ago.

I bought these pilgrim salad plates one or two at a time as I found them online on Ebay and Mercari over several months. They are actually collector plates (we would never eat on them) that were made by Bing and Grondahl in 1987. Because of my husband’s ancestors I decided we needed them!

A few years ago I was looking for a basic cream colored dinner plate and I found this one. It is Mason Stoneware made by Pottery Barn. I think this color was called Wheat. It comes in other colors as well. It is a great size (10 3/4”) for a dinner plate and large enough that it could be used as a charger with smaller dinner plates.

These bronze hammered charger plates came from Williams Sonoma on sale several years ago. I really like the hammered design and they are a nice weight. To read about what you should be considering when you are buying chargers click here.

This flatware is a smoky brown color. The camera makes them look much darker in color than they really are. The handles are some kind of plastic material. They are marked SR Showroom Italy. The set was made by Zaffiro and I think I bought it on sale online at Horchow several years ago. The color is called Smoky and it looks like this pattern has been discontinued. I really liked the simple design so I bought it in other colors as well. It is 18/10 stainless and a nice heavy set. The pieces are really longer in length than normal flatware. The brown cotton napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1 several years ago. I bought the pilgrim couple napkin rings either on Poshmark or Ebay online a few years ago.

I couldn’t find any pilgrim place card holders so I improvised and put a pilgrim napkin ring on top of one of my square crystal place card holders. I think he looks pretty cute! I found these pilgrim napkin rings on Mercari a few years ago.

The bright blue goblet on the left came from HomeGoods a few years ago. When I saw the blue on the salad plates I knew this goblet would be a perfect match and it was. The brown glass goblet on the right was made by Lenox between 1966 and 1985. It was called Antique Brown. I bought them on Ebay several years ago. Ebay still has this pattern for sale. I found these Jim Shore Pilgrim figures on Ebay a few years ago. She was made in 2009 and was called “Give Thanks for the Bounty”. He was made the same year and was called “Abundant Blessings”. I set them on a wood stand that Hubby found at Hobby Lobby and painted brown for me. He actually cut the box in half because it was too tall. It is so wonderful to have a hubby who can do these kind of things! I scattered some faux leaves and pumpkins and gourds around the bottom of the stand.

I added a couple pilgrim salt and pepper sets to the table. This vintage set was made by Lefton. I probably bought them on Ebay several years ago.

This pilgrim set is labeled Grasslands Road. I think I found this set at a gift shop somewhere a few years ago.

It was fun to set a Thanksgiving table without turkeys!

Pumpkins on a Fall Tablescape

I bought this tablecloth on sale at Spoonflower online a few years ago to use on a different tablescape but when it arrived it was not the exact colors that I needed. That happens sometimes and I usually send the tablecloth back but I really liked this one so I decided to create a Fall tablescape using it. The tablecloth design is quite unique but it lends itself to a Fall theme I think.

This salad pumpkin plate came from Sur la Table several years ago. I had been looking for a good pumpkin plate for some time and it was the perfect color. It is one of my favorites and I usually use it sometime during the Fall season every year.

This turquoise melamine dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It is a brighter blue than this photo shows.

I found these orange distressed pumpkin chargers at Pier 1 years ago before our store closed. I really like this shade of orange for Fall tablescapes. I used it on a Thanksgiving tablescape a few years ago, you can see that table setting here.

This place mat and several others like it in other colors came from Pier 1 several years ago. It is a prettier brighter blue than this photo shows. I don’t know why these blue tones fight with my camera phone.

I have this Ginkgo International Le Prix flatware in black and red and I added yellow and this color called persimmon a few years ago. I can’t remember where I bought the set online but if you google it, something will probably pop up. I used this set on a rainbow themed tablescape. You can see that tablescape here. I think these cotton napkins came from Pier 1 several years ago, I love the intense bright turquoise color. I found the metal orange pumpkin napkin rings on Amazon. I have had them for a while. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

The acrylic blue green goblet on the left came from Pier 1 a few years ago before our store closed. I think I bought the orange glass goblets at Ross or T.J. Maxx. They were some of the first goblets I bought many years ago and I use them more often than I thought I would. This pumpkin really makes a statement! I bought it last year but I can’t remember where. It usually sits on the fireplace from Fall until I put Christmas decorations up.

I added pumpkin salt and pepper sets to the table. These came from Pier 1 several years ago. I think the other set came from Amazon.

An unusual color combination for a Fall tablescape but I like it!
