Leaves on a Fall Tablescape

Every Fall I have to create at least one Fall tablescape with a fall leaves theme. I have done one every year for the past several years, even before I started blogging. This is a fairly simple tablescape. I have had this green tablecloth for a couple of years, I bought it on Amazon. I love this color for a Fall tablecloth or for Thanksgiving. I used it on one of my Thanksgiving tablescapes a couple years ago. It is a green tweed color, brighter than this photo shows and it is perfect for the Fall season.

I found these ceramic leaf plates at a wholesale discount holiday warehouse several years ago. I got in because my sister-in-law had a membership card. They are marked Tii Collections on the bottom. I love the different colors on the leaf. Next time I use them I might use the deep pinkie purple on the bottom instead of the green tones on this table.

This green stoneware dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route series and each color was called a different spice. This one was called Clove. I love this plate for Fall and Thanksgiving tablescapes and if you read my blog you see it often during those times of the year. I bought these iced glass sage green chargers at Pier 1 several years ago after I saw them on another blog. I love using them in the spring and fall. I am using my Madeline Green flatware on this table setting, I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. After red, I think green flatware is the most used flatware color on my tablescapes because it can be used during both the Spring and Fall seasons. I bought these fall leaves napkins on Etsy several years ago. I found the metal fall leaf napkin rings online at The Country Village Shoppe a few years ago. They were made by Park Designs and they came in four different colors.

I found these metal maple leaf place card holders on Etsy a few years ago.

The orange amber glass goblet on the left came from HomeGoods a few years ago. it doesn’t have a maker’s mark. The green acrylic goblet on the right came from our Pier 1 store before they closed a few years ago. I was looking for a long wooden box that I could use as a centerpiece a few years ago and when I found one that I liked on Etsy the cost for shipping it was ridiculous so I showed the photo to Hubby and he built this one for me. He also built another one that is a bit larger too. I filled it with faux pumpkins and gourds and leaves that I have collected over the years and added two green candles. When I started tablescaping I bought lots of candles in all different colors and sizes so I would have them when I needed them. I usually find them on Amazon or at HomeGoods. I used this same centerpiece on another Fall tablescape a few years ago but everything else on the table was different. You can see that tablescape here.

Owls on a Fall Tablescape

The idea for this tablescape started with these small owl salad plates but it took almost a year to pull it together. I have had this green tablecloth for a couple of years, I bought it on Amazon. I love this color for a Fall tablecloth or for Thanksgiving. I used it on one of my Thanksgiving tablescapes a couple years ago. It is a green tweed color and it is perfect for the Fall season. The camera shows some of the colors on this tablescape a different color than they really are.

I found these small owl salad plates at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. It was too late to use them because I already had all my tablescapes planned out for that year so I saved them for this Fall. They are marked Robert Stanley.

This salad plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route Collection. Each plate was named after a spice and this one was called Ginger. I have a few other plates in the collection and I often use them on my tablescapes this time of year because they are all perfect fall colors. I really like the beaded design around the rim on these plates, it adds an additional bit of interest to the plates.

These bronze hammered charger plates came from Williams Sonoma several years ago. I really like the hammered design and they are a nice weight. To read about what you should be considering when you are buying chargers click here.

This amber flatware was made by D & D Inox in Italy. I bought it online at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. I really liked this pattern and it was a really good sale so I have the same pattern in cream, wine red, and dark aqua. These Vera print napkins probably came from HomeGoods several years ago. When I first saw them they reminded me of Fall, they are full of great fall colors. I love a fall print! I found these Tag ceramic owl napkin rings or place card holders on Ebay a couple of years ago. I love that they can be used for either purpose. They came in green, brown, orangish tan and a burgundy red.

I think these owl place card holders are so cute. They originally came from Pottery Barn but I found them on Ebay. I am not sure that they were ever used.

The amber glass goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed a few years ago. I love how tall they are. I bought the green acrylic goblet on the right a couple years ago online at Home Depot. Home Depot now sells tablescaping items. They are made by Certified International and they come in other colors as well.

Hubby found this owl figure at an estate sale a few years ago. He loves to go to estate sales and he often finds tablescaping goodies for me. I was delighted to see it, I knew I had found my owl centerpiece. It is marked Andrea by Sadek. I love the expression in the eyes.

I wanted to add a couple small owls to the tablescape so I found this owl salt and pepper set on Amazon a few years ago.

This owl salt and pepper set came from Cracker Barrel online a few years ago.

Time for A Football Tablescape

I have seen several football themed tablescapes over the past few years and I finally decided to take the plunge and do one myself. I am not a fanatical football fan but I do enjoy having a college football game on in the background in the fall while I am doing something else especially if my team UCLA ( I got my Master’s Degree there) is playing. As the saying goes, I am for UCLA, and whoever is playing USC (cross town rivalry). Sometimes I watch the Super Bowl, mainly for the commercials, although they have been a disappointment in recent years. This football field tablecloth came from Amazon a couple of years ago. Google cloth football tablecloth and something will pop out.

I found these earthenware football shaped salad plates at Target online a couple of years ago. They are marked Boston Warehouse. If you google football plate others might pop up.

I am using my Fiesta dinner plates in the color Shamrock on this tablescape. This is one of my favorite green plate colors. I bought these square brown charger plates at Pier 1 several years ago, they are some kind of melamine.

I found the football print napkins on Etsy a few years ago. I created football napkin rings by using masking tape to temporarily attach a small foam football that I found on Amazon to one of my white ceramic napkin rings.

I found these football place card holders on Mercari a couple of years ago.

The green plastic goblet on the left came from Pier 1 several years ago. If you read my blog, you have seen these goblets before a few times. You can see them on my Red Barn Fall tablescape here. The brown glass goblet on the right was made by Lenox between 1966 and 1985. It was called Antique Brown. I bought them on Ebay several years ago. You can see them on one of my Fall Leaves tablescapes here. The best centerpiece for a football themed tablescape is obviously a football! Hubby bought the football and football tee on Amazon. I think it’s fun that it has our surname on it.

The two sets of football salt and peppers came from Party Swizzle online a few years ago. I like to add small salt and pepper sets that match the theme of the table to my tablescapes sometimes.

Books on a Fall Tablescape

Since many are starting back to school soon I decided to do a Books themed tablescape. I did a schoolhouse themed tablescape before, you can see that one here. I love some of Spoonflower’s tablecloth designs but I have only bought one in the past because they cost more than I want to spend but they were having a sale a few years ago and I saw this Staxx Books tablecloth online. As a retired librarian I felt that I must have it! (I bought another one on sale too, you will see that one on a blog post later.) I love the bold graphics and bright colors. Their fabrics are thick and they wash and iron well.

I bought this book shaped white plate in four different sizes several years ago online from Webstaurantstore.com. Unfortunately you had to buy a case of the plates because the web site is a restaurant supply store. I bought them anyway because I felt a librarian who does tablescaping should have these plates! (I was still working at the time.) They are labeled CAC China. If you google book shaped plate you might find some at another site. This white appetizer plate is on top of the plate stack.

The salad plate is the same design but a bit larger. I like the bright white color of these plates.

The dinner plate is a bit larger than that. I used this plate a few years ago on a reading and witches themed Halloween tablescape. You can see that tablescape here.

I needed a basic square black charger and I found these on Amazon a few years ago. They are melamine and they are made by American Atelier. I think you can find them in other stores too. If you are a tablescaper, it’s a good idea to have basic plates in neutral colors that you can use over and over again. I wanted another set of black flatware that was all black and different from my Ginkgo International LePrix set to use on a Halloween tablescape and I found this set a few years ago on sale at Macy’s online. It was made by Lenox and the pattern is called Portola. I love the simple design and shiny black color. I suspect this set will get a lot of use. These A to Z napkin rings are homemade. I bought the unfinished wooden letters at Michael’s and Hubby painted them black for me and then glued the letters together. Then I temporarily attached the letters to some black napkin rings I have with masking tape. The letters A and Z are on the tablecloth so I wanted to match them. You can read about other homemade napkin ring ideas here. The lime green cotton napkins came from Pier 1 several years ago before our store closed. I added them to match the green color on the tablecloth.

I love these tiny typewriter place card holders. I have had them for a few years and I have been waiting for a chance to use them on a tablescape. I found them at The Knot Shop online.

The lime green goblet on the left is my go-to goblet when I need that color for a tablescape. They came from Pier 1 several years ago. I have black goblets that are shorter than the black goblet on the right and black goblets that are much taller than this goblet but I wanted goblets this height. I was delighted to find these black plastic ones on Amazon a few years ago. It said that they were disposable but I plan to keep them for a while until I can find some glass black ones that are the same height. I knew I wanted to use black letters for the centerpiece to match the black letters on the tablecloth and I was looking at single letters but I found this a and z wood book end set on Amazon a few years ago. They were blue and white but Hubby painted them black for me. I have books in every room in the house and I went around and looked for books with covers that were the same colors as some of the book covers on the tablecloth. It caused an unusual collection of subjects!

I love this tablecloth and the color combination of black and white and lime green.
