Pink Hydrangeas on a Summer Tablescape

I found these pink hydrangea salad plates probably last year sometime. I decided to create a Summer Tablescape around them but I needed to wait until my pink hydrangeas were in bloom this year. All the hydrandeas on the table are from my garden except for the napkin rings. I found the green tablecloth at HomeGoods last week. It has kind of a tweed texture to it. It is the perfect color for a Spring or Summer tablescape. I added a green glass salt and pepper set and a green glass cream and sugar set to the table in my Circle Depression Glass pattern to add a bit more interest.

These melamine pink hydrangea salad plates came from HomeGoods. I kept seeing blue hydrangea plates but I knew my hydrangeas are pink so I was delighted to find these plates. They don’t have a maker’s mark on the back so I don’t know who made them.

I have green dinner plates in several different shades of green and that’s a good idea if you are planning a tablescaping hobby. These are a good shade of green if you need a darker green color. Two years ago, for the first time, Hubby went to the Dollar Store and bought silver chargers for me and then spray painted them this bright pink. I am going to have to do that more often. It is such an easy way to have chargers the right color for your table setting and you can paint the same chargers over and over. I used this pink charger two years ago on one of my beachie themed tablescapes. You can see that tablescape here.

I was hoping to use my frosted pink flatware set on this table but it was just a bit too pinkish coral to work here so I am back to my frosted green flatware set. If you read my blog you have seen this flatware five different times on my Spring and Summer tablescapes this year. It is an oldie but goodie for sure. This flatware is called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market many years ago. If you google frosted flatware and add the color you are looking for you will find similar sets. These pink hydrangea napkin rings were made by Secret Celebrity and I love how full they are and the colors too. I found them on Ebay a few months ago. The polyester pink napkins came from Amazon two years ago.

You can see the tweed texture of the green tablecloth in this photo. I bought these small white vase place card holders on Amazon a few years ago. The hydrangea flowers are from my garden. You can read my blog post for ideas about how to store napkin rings and place card holders here.

The sage green acrylic goblet on the left came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. If you are planning a tablescaping hobby this is a color you need to have in your collection. I found the pink glass goblet at World Market a couple years ago. Tall pink glass goblets are difficult to find so I was glad to see these. I really love hydrangeas and these hydrangeas came from my garden this week. They are in a large white pottery vase, one of a pair of identical white vases that I inherited from my mother. She received them as a wedding present in 1938.

I am thinking about planting some more hydrangeas, I love them!

Magnolias on a Summer Tablescape

I did a Magnolia tablescape two years ago but it was magnolias with pink roses too. You can see that tablescape here. I have wanted to create a tablescape with just magnolias ever since then. The only element that I used on both tablescapes was this magnolia salad plate. I changed out everything else. My mother was very sentimental about magnolias so I love to do a magnolia tablescape in her memory from time to time. This sage green tablecloth came from Amazon early this year. I love it and it washes and irons beautifully. I went back and bought a few other colors as well. It is called maxmill Jacquard Table Cloth Swirl Design. It has lots of movement to it.

I bought these ironstone magnolia salad plates at our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. I really miss wandering around that store from time to time. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying salad plates here.

I found these white dinner plates at HomeGoods a few years ago. They were made by Fitz and Floyd and the pattern was called Oakdale White. I like the rope design around the rim, it adds a bit of interest to a simple plate design. HomeGoods is a good source for inexpensive white dinner plates in lots of different patterns and styles. These chargers were made by Mikasa and the pattern was Color Spectrum, this charger in Hunter Green. I have several different colors of this charger and I really love the size, design and shape. They were discontinued but I bought them all on Ebay a few at a time over several years.

This clear flatware is labeled SR Showroom Italy but it is called Zaffiro flatware. I think I bought it online and on sale at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales several years ago. I have it in a few different colors because I love the simple design and the long length. The handle is actually heavy acrylic. The beauty of having a flatware set with clear handles is the fact that the handle picks up the color of whatever it is sitting on so it matches. It is perfect to use when you don’t have flatware that matches your table setting and you don’t want to use stainless or sterling flatware. I bought these cotton magnolia flower napkins online two years ago but I can’t remember where. I bought the ceramic sage green napkin rings at Pier 1 a few years ago before our store closed. I am surprised at how often I use them. You can really see the waves and movement in the tablecloth in this photo.

I was having a really difficult time trying to find a white magnolia place card holder when I found these gumpaste magnolia flowers at Caljava online last month. They are on a short stem and I knew I could put them in my small white vase place card holders that I bought on Amazon a few years ago. This one is really pretty.

These sage green acrylic goblets came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. I decided to use two of the same goblets because I really liked the way they looked on this table setting with the sage green tablecloth. When I saw this faux magnolia wreath at HomeGoods a few months ago I knew I had my Magnolia Tablescape centerpiece. It just had the white magnolia flowers on it but I bought a faux magnolia leaf branch at Hobby Lobby today and cut off some leaves to add to it. I bought the large glass hurricane type candle holder many years ago when I started tablescaping probably at Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn. The green pillar candle came from World Market several years ago.

I love how all the different greens work together on this tablescape!

Bees on a Summer Tablescape

Yesterday was World Bee Day so this Summer Bee tablescape is perfect timing I think. I did a Bee tablescape last year but it was bumblebees with a black and gold color theme. You can see that tablescape here. The year before that I used these dishes but the color theme was blue and yellow. You can see that tablescape here. I decided to add green to this version. I found this yellow seersucker tablecloth at Macy’s online two years ago.

I found these bee salad plates at HomeGoods three years ago. They had no label except made in china. I didn’t like the brightness of the white circle in the center so I found bee table scatter (tiny wood bees) on Amazon and scattered them on the white circle, problem solved. I love the wicker pattern and the added flowers and bee designs are just enough.

Fiesta Shamrock Dinner Plate

These dinner plates are made by Fiesta and the color is Shamrock. I bought them at Macy’s a few years ago. I love this shade of green and I have used these plates often on my tablescapes. You can read my blog post about what to consider when you are buying dinner plates here.

Mikasa Color Spectrum Sun Yellow Charger

This is a Color Spectrum charger by Mikasa, the color is Sun Yellow. I bought these chargers on Ebay a few at a time several years ago because I loved the quality and the color. I have them in several colors now because they are heavy and well made.

This flatware is Madeline Green flatware and I bought it at World Market several years ago. If you read my blog you have seen this flatware on four of my last seven tablescapes. Pfaltzgraf Summer Breeze Napkins

I have had these napkins for several years, I am not sure where I bought them. They were made by Pfaltzgraf and the pattern was called Summer Breeze. The blue flowers on them are a perfect match for the blue flowers on the salad plates. I used these napkins on my Birdcage Tablescape a few weeks ago too. The yellow plaid design on the napkins is a good complement to the yellow stripes on the tablecloth. I found the metal daisy and bee napkin rings on Amazon last year.

Temp-tations Beehive Place Card Holders

I bought these beehive place card holders last year online at Temp-tations. They have some of the cutest dishes I have seen for different holidays. The place cards came from Amazon.

The green goblet on the left came from Macy’s last fall. The name is Qualia Glass Meridian. I like the height and the beautiful green color. It can be difficult to find yellow glass goblets that don’t have a gold tint to them so when I saw these yellow goblets on Etsy a few months ago I immediately bought them. I am not sure who made them. I love the color and the size of them. I used both of these goblets on my Spring Flowers tablescape a few weeks ago. When I saw this beehive cookie jar and cake stand at HomeGoods a few years ago that matched the salad plates I knew I had a bee tablescape in the making. I added a tiny glass bee that I have to the centerpiece just for fun.

HomeGoods also had a matching tea pot and cream and sugar set in the same pattern. I have a matching tall pitcher as well.

HomeGoods also had the matching salt and pepper set. This dish pattern was at HomeGoods for two or three years in a row a few years ago with different pieces.

I am trying to add flowers to my garden that bees like, they need all the help that we can give them!

Vegetables on a Summer Tablescape

I have been planning a vegetable themed tablescape for a while but it took some time to find what I needed to pull it all together. I saw this vegetable themed Insalata tablecloth at Williams Sonoma online a few months ago and I really liked it but I didn’t want to buy it because it is more than I am usually willing to pay for a tablecloth. I kept looking at it though and I finally gave in and bought it. Once in a while I do that. I have a vintage looking Halloween tablecloth that was expensive but I really love using it. My kids can fight over them after I am gone!

I wanted to share the tablecloth design before I put everything on it so you can see it. I really love the graphics.

Fitz and Floyd 1995 Vegetable Bouquet Plate

I found these Fitz and Floyd 1995 Vegetable Bouquet salad plates on Ebay. I bought them one or two at a time over the last two months. They were exactly what I was looking for for a salad plate for this tablescape. The plates are embossed (Majolica style) with turnips, corn, carrots, red onion, and celery.

This green dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Clove. I use this plate often in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Bordallo Pinheiro Geranium Leaf Charger

This Bordallo Pinheiro Geranium Leaf charger is one of my favorite Spring and Summer chargers. I bought them one at a time over several months on Ebay until I had the number I needed when I first started tablescaping several years ago.

This flatware set is Madeline Green flatware and I bought it at World Market several years ago. This is the fourth time that I have used this flatware this year. If you are starting a tablescaping collection I recommend you buy a green flatware set. You will use it during every season. I can’t remember where these vegetable themed napkins came from, I have have them for several years. Someone may have made them for me on Etsy. Williams Sonoma has napkins to match the tablecloth but I knew I could use these instead. If you google vegetable napkins several other choices will pop up. I found the painted metal vegetable napkin rings on Ebay last month. There were six different vegetables in the set.

I found these tin watering can place card holders on Etsy last month. I am usually not a fan of tin and I was going to have Hubby paint them for me but he convinced me to try them on the completed table first and I decided they were fine. The tin metal adds a bit of interest to the rest of the table setting. I found the place cards on Amazon, I have them in several colors now.

The sage green acrylic goblet on the left came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a couple years ago. I think I bought the orange goblet on the right at Ross or T.J. Maxx. They were some of the first goblets I bought several years ago. I use them more than I thought I would. I think I have goblets now in all the primary colors. When I saw this salt and pepper set on Ebay a couple weeks ago I knew I needed to add it to this tablescape.

To balance the table I added a corn salt and pepper set to the other side of the table. It probably came from Ebay too a few years ago.

I knew I probably wanted a Fitz and Floyd centerpiece of some kind for this tablescape and I looked at several until I found this cookie jar. It was made by Fitz and Floyd in 1996 and the pattern was called English Garden Bunnies Cookie Jar. I found it online on Mercari. I love all the detail, vegetables, gardening tools, and a few bunnies too! I wanted it to be a bit higher so I looked through my cupboards and found this Bordallo Pinheiro cake stand. I totally forgot that I had it. I probably bought it on Ebay several years ago.

I am showing the back of the cookie jar because it has cute details too. With the bunnies this centerpiece could be used at Easter as well.

One of these years I am going to start a vegetable garden! This table setting is giving me lots of incentive!
