Haunted Houses on a Halloween Tablescape

October 20, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I found this tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. They also had it with black as the dominant plaid color and I bought that one too. You have seen my Halloween tablescapes with lots of black and orange. If you read my blog and look at the different Halloween Tablescapes you can see how I use some of the same pieces over and over again with different tablecloths and other elements to make different table settings. When I started tablescaping years ago I knew that Halloween would be a major tablescaping holiday for me so I started collecting the basics; black and orange dinner plates, black and orange goblets, black flatware, etc. so I would always have the basics to start with on a Halloween table.

2021.09.30a.jpg

I found this Haunted House appetizer or tidbit plate several years ago on Ebay. It was part of a set of four plates made by 222 Fifth (PTS) starting in 2012 and the series was called Wiccan Lace. This series also included a witch, a skull, and a cat. You ca see a couple of them on other Halloween tablescapes that I have done.

2021.09.30b.jpg

The next plate down in the plate stack is a simple black porcelain plate made by 10 Strawberry Street and called Classic Black Porcelain. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago.

2021.09.30c.jpg

This white salad plate was made by Wedgwood and the pattern was called Intaglio. I like the designs on the lip of the plate. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago.

2021.09.30d.jpg

I love this orange dinner plate, the vivid orange color, the ruffles on the lip, and the heavy melamine design all make it a perfect plate for Halloween. I bought them several years ago online at Dillards.com and they were called Summer Oasis Zoie Vintage Dinner Plate. If I could only save a few dinner plates from my collection for tablescaping, this plate would be one of them.

2021.09.30e.jpg

These black glass Starburst chargers are called Charge It and they were made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes. They are in constant use on my tablescapes every October.

2021.09.30f.jpg

This black stainless flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had it for several years, I’m not sure where I bought it. You can still find it for sale online. It gets a lot of use this time of year but I actually use them at other times of the year as well. If I were starting a flatware collection for tablescaping, black would be one of the first colors I would buy.

2021.09.30g.jpg

These bright orange napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1 several years ago. Someone on Etsy made the black metal haunted house napkin rings for me. I love metal napkin rings because they won’t break and they will last for a long time.

2021.09.30h.jpg

I bought these black house place card holders on Ebay a couple years ago. I think they were made by Hearth and Hand Accents with Magnolia originally. They are perfect for a Halloween table setting.

2021.09.30i.jpg

The orange goblet on the left was one of the first goblets I bought many years ago, I think I bought them at Ross or T.J. Maxx. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I sure do this time of year. Just fyi, in the spring and summer dollar stores often sell plastic goblets like this design in bright colors. You will probably see these goblets again this Halloween season. The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a couple of years ago. I seem to be using these two goblets on almost every Halloween tablescape this year!

2021.09.30j.jpg

I found this haunted house lantern at Roger’s Gardens in Corona Del Mar, California a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a perfect centerpiece for a Halloween tablescape. I love the design and you can put a battery candle inside.

A Vintage Style Halloween Tablescape

October 13, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I know this is a busy tablescape but I still love it all, it is so rich with color and design. It is just amazing. I have never bought a Spoonflower tablecloth before even though their designs are often wonderful because they are so expensive but when I saw this tablecloth I knew I just had to have it. I actually bought it at Walmart online. There are so many different design elements on it that I can create many different Halloween themed tablescapes over the next few years with it. I just love the vintage feeling it provides.

2021.10.06a.jpg

I knew I needed top plates for the plate stack that had a vintage looking design on them for this tablescape. When I saw these small appetizer or tidbit plates online at Home Depot a few years ago I was so excited! They were made by Certified International and copyrighted by Janelle Penner. There are four different designs in the plate set and I am using the two that have an orange background on them. The others have a black background. I love these plate designs!

2021.10.06b.jpg

With the busy design of the tablecloth and the top plate I wanted the rest of the plate stack to be solid colors to rest the eyes. These black plates are smaller than most of the salad plates that I have used recently on my tablescapes. They are called tidbit plates or appetizer plates (like the vintage looking plates I described above). These plates were made by 10 Strawberry Street and the pattern was called Classic Black Porcelain. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. If you read my blog you saw them on my Ghost Halloween Tablescape a few years ago.

2021.10.06c.jpg

I love this melamine orange dinner plate, the vivid orange color, the ruffles on the lip, and the heavy melamine design all make it a perfect plate for Halloween. I bought them several years ago online at Dillards.com and they were called Summer Oasis Zoie Vintage Dinner Plate. If you read my blog you have seen it before on my other Halloween tablescapes. I have a couple other orange dinner plates but I tend to grab these when I need one for a Halloween tablescape.

These black glass Starburst chargers are called Charge It and they were made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and I tend to grab them too when I am working on a Halloween table setting.

I bought these black placemats at Pier 1 several years ago.

2021.10.06e.jpg

This black stainless flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had it for years, I’m not sure where I bought it. You can still find it for sale online. It gets a lot of use this time of year. I love seeing the tablecloth up close in all these photos, so much wonderful detail.

2021.10.06f.jpg

I have some black napkins but I wanted some new ones that hadn’t faded out. I found these at Crate and Barrela few years ago. These wonderful vintage looking Legigo napkin rings came from Amazon a few years ago. When I saw them I immediately knew that they would be a perfect match for the tablecloth and top plates.

2021.10.06g.jpg

I can’t remember where I bought these small black lantern tea light holders. I have had them for a few years. I found the orange tea lights on Amazon. I like the way it all looks on this tablecloth.

2021.10.06p.jpg
2021.10.06h.jpg

I found this salt and pepper set a few years ago at Roger’s Gardens, a nursery and gift shop in the next County. I knew the set would match this tablecloth well.

2021.10.06i.jpg

I have had this salt and pepper set for a few years and I can’t remember where I found it.

2021.10.06j.jpg

These orange goblets on the left were some of the first goblets I bought many years ago, I think I bought them at Ross or T.J. Maxx. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I sure have this time of year. Just fyi, in the spring and summer dollar stores often sell plastic goblets like this design in bright colors. The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a few years ago.

2021.10.06k.jpg

After I found the tablecloth, I started thinking about and planning this tablescape, and I knew the centerpiece had to have a vintage feel to it. I looked and looked online and I finally found this jack o’lantern blowmold on Mercari online a few years ago. I can’t believe I found such a perfect centerpiece for this tablescape. It was meant to be! I’m not sure how old it is but it sure looks vintage. I have had really good luck finding unusual things on Mercari. I wanted it to be a bit taller so I set it on a small black glass cake stand I had. I think I found the cake stand at HomeGoods several years ago.

Skulls on a Halloween Tablescape

October 06, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

I did a Skulls themed tablescape several years ago for Halloween but I have made some changes to it for this Skulls Tablescape. The simple white cotton tablecloth was probably from HomeGoods or Amazon. I have had it for several years. I had a friend staying with me who is really creative and she helped me with this tablescape.

2021.10.02a.jpg

This small appetizer or tidbit skull plate came in a set of four different designs. I found them on Ebay several years ago. They were made by 222 Fifth (PTS). I only have a few square plates in my tablescaping collection.

2021.10.02b.jpg
2021.10.02c.jpg
2021.10.02t.jpg

I bought these small square black glass plates somewhere while we were on vacation several years ago but I can’t remember where. They were made by Luminarc France. They were really cheap so I bought white ones as well.

2021.10.02e.jpg

I bought this square glass plate with a black lace design online somewhere several ago but I can’t remember where it came from either. It was the perfect design for this tablescape.

2021.10.02f.jpg

This large beaded square white plate was made by 10 Strawberry Street. A large square plate like this is a great starter plate if you want to begin to do tablescaping and you want square plates. You can use it as a charger or a dinner plate. I have large square plates in black and brown also. I wanted to have a few square plates in basic colors in my collection of dishes. I can’t remember where I bought it several years ago but it was probably HomeGoods. They always have a large collection of different white dishes for sale.

2021.10.02u.jpg

This plastic houndstooth patterned square placemat came from Bed, Bath & Beyond several years ago.

This black flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had this set for years and it came from Overstock.com. It is still for sale online at a few places. Looks like it might be used on every Halloween tablescape that I do this month!

2021.10.02h.jpg

The silver skull ceramic napkin rings came from DII and I bought them on Amazon. The polyester skull napkins were made by ZzWwR and I bought them on Amazon also.

2021.10.02i.jpg
2021.10.02v.jpg
2021.10.02s.jpg

The silver colored skull and crossbones place card holders came from Grandin Road online a few years ago. Their Halloween catalog and collections are amazing every year! I bought the purple place cards on Amazon a few months ago.

2021.10.02j.jpg

I bought the tall black glass goblet on sale at Z Gallerie several years ago. They are the tallest goblets I have in my goblet collection. I found the purple goblets at HomeGoods a few years ago. I was able to get six at one store and six at another store. I am not sure who made them.

2021.10.02m.jpg

This large skull centerpiece came from T.J. Maxx several years ago. He is sitting on a black stand that I bought online at Grandin Road several years ago.

2021.10.02r.jpg

I bought the tall black pillar candle holders online at Grandin Road several years ago. The skull candles came from Etsy a few years ago.

2021.10.02k.jpg

I found the small silver skull salt and pepper set at HomeGoods a few years ago.

2021.10.02l.jpg

I found the larger silver skulls with open mouths at HomeGoods also a few years ago. I am not sure what they were supposed to hold.

Stripes and Polka Dots on a Halloween Tablescape

September 29, 2021 by Beth Wilson in Tablescapes

This Halloween tablescape might become a favorite. I love all the different black and white and orange stripes and polka dot patterns. The tablecloth was made by Cynthia Rowley and the label says Curious. I found it at HomeGoods a few years ago. I bought the matching napkins too but I decided to use black napkins on this table for contrast.

2021.09.29a.jpg

These orange polka dot salad plates were made by Maxwell Williams and the pattern was called Sprinkle. I have had them for several years and I can’t remember where I found them. I really love these plates, they look so cheerful. I wanted to add something more and I remembered that I had small black and white pumpkins so I added one to each place setting. They could be a party favor. I can’t remember where I bought them a few years ago but it might have been Target.

2021.09.29b.jpg

These black and white checked stoneware dinner plates are another favorite of mine. They were made by Royal Stafford, and the label says Painterly Affects, Chequers. They were made in England. I bought them a few at a time as I found them on Ebay several years ago. I bought the salad plates too.

2021.09.29c.jpg

These black glass Starburst chargers are called Charge It and they were made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes. If you read my blog you saw them on my Halloween Ghost Tablescape. If you compare these two tablescapes you can see how I reuse some of the same items on different themed tablescapes.

2021.09.29d.jpg

I think I bought the black polyester napkins on Amazon several years ago. The only thing I don’t like about polyester napkins is the fact that they are really slippery when stored stacked on top of each other. Cotton works much better. I found the black and white polka dot napkin rings on Ebay a few years ago.

2021.09.29e.jpg

The black flatware is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had it for years but it is still for sale. Not sure where I bought it. I have it in a few other colors as well. It is often in use on my tablescapes at Halloween time.

2021.09.29f.jpg

I found these small black metal place card holders online at CB2. They work as stand alone place card holders and also as stands for other place card holders and small items. I have used them as both.

2021.09.29o.jpg
2021.09.29g.jpg

The orange goblet on the left was one of the first goblets I bought many years ago, I think I bought them at Ross or T.J. Maxx. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I sure do this time of year. Just fyi, in the spring and summer dollar stores often sell plastic goblets like this design in bright colors. The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a couple of years ago.

2021.09.29l.jpg

The black and white striped pumpkin centerpiece came from Grandin Road online a few years ago. The stem was gold but Hubby painted it black for me. I have several pumpkins like this with different patterns in black and white and black and orange and they all came from Grandin Road. The pumpkin is sitting on a wood stand that I bought at Pier 1 last year. It was a natural wood color but Hubby painted it white for me to use on a Beach tablescape and then black for a couple of Halloween tables last year.

2021.09.29n.jpg
2021.09.29j.jpg

I found the two striped covered pumpkin bowls at HomeGoods a few years ago. They were made by 10 Strawberry Street and the labels say Whimsical Cupboard.
