Hydrangeas on a Tablescape

I love hydrangeas. I have a few hydrangea plants in my back garden and I may plant a couple more. I did a tablescape last year with pink hydrangeas but when I saw this tablecloth at HomeGoods last year, I knew that I would eventually create a tablescape with blue hydrangeas. The label on the matching napkins says House & Garden. It took me a year to find hydrangea salad plates that I liked.

These porcelain hydrangea salad plates came in a set of four. I didn’t use the pinkish colored one on this tablescape, I used two of each of the other colors. I found them on Ebay a few months ago. They were made by American Atelier at Home.

This green dinner plate was called Fun Factory and it was made by Waechtersbach. The color was called Green Apple I think. I have had them for several years and I can’t remember where I bought them. I have a few different white chargers but this is the one I seem to use the most on my tablescapes. The beaded rim design always adds an additional bit of interest to the plate stack. This white beaded charger came from Williams Sonoma and it is called Antique Beaded. It was one of the first chargers I bought several years ago when I started tablescaping. Seems like every time I use this frosted green flatware I get questions and comments about it. It is called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market several years ago. If you google frosted flatware and add the color you are looking for you will find similar sets. I use this green flatware often in the Spring and Fall. The hydrangea napkins came from HomeGoods last month. I was surprised to see them because they match the tablecloth and I found it at HomeGoods last year. I found these blue hydrangea napkin rings on Etsy a few months ago. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

These white place card holders can be written on with a special pen. Can’t remember where I bought them but it was probably Williams Sonoma or Crate and Barrel several years ago. The sage green acrylic goblet on the left came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. We found the blue glass goblet on the right at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. I was looking for a light blue glass goblet and these were perfect. I found the faux hydrangeas on Amazon and at Michaels a few months ago and I put them in this large white pottery vase that I inherited from my mother. She received a pair of them as a wedding present in 1938.

I found this Mosser white milk glass salt and pepper set at Everything Kitchens online last year. I wanted a simple white salt and pepper set and I love this one.

Hubby traveled to 48 countries during his career for work and he would bring me a vase from every country he visited. This small porcelain vase came from France. It is marked Porcelaine de Paris. I decided to add it to this tablescape.

Butterflies on a Spring Tablescape

I posted a butterfly tablescape a few years ago but I decided to create a different one with a few of the same items. I found this butterfly tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago. The border is a weird green pea soup color but I knew it wouldn’t show on the tablescape.

I found these small melamine blue butterfly bowls at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. They don’t have a maker’s mark on them.

This flatware is called Madeline Green and I bought it at World Market several years ago. If you read my blog you have seen it several times on my tablescapes. I found these DII metal butterfly napkin rings on Amazon a few years ago. They were black and Hubby painted them green for me. I love this shade of green. The green cotton napkins came from Pier 1 several years ago. It is one of my favorite green shades, I call it Spring Green. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

I found these metal butterflies on Ebay a few years ago. They are not really place card holders but they have short wires on the back that I bent into a stand for them. I knew the place card would slide in front of the antennae. There are nine different designs and I love the color combinations!

The green acrylic goblets on the left came from our Pier 1 store before it closed several years ago. I think I bought the blue goblets on the right at Pier 1 too. When I started tablescaping I didn’t pay attention to the height of the goblets that I was buying and I soon learned that I like them to be taller like these two. I found these faux blue flowers at Hobby Lobby a few years ago. They are in a large white pottery vase, one of a pair of identical white pottery vases that I inherited from my mother. She received them as a wedding present in 1938. I added three of the same metal butterflies that I used as place card holders to the flower arrangement.

I love watching butterflies in my garden!

Succulents on a Spring Tablescape

This Succulent Spring tablescape has been a year in the making. It took me that long to gather it all with several false starts, buying things that weren’t right, returning them, and trying something else, etc.. I found the tablecloth on Amazon a few months ago after buying another one that ended up having permanent creases in it that I just couldn’t iron out.

These succulent shaped melamine salad plates were made by Nicole Miller Home. I bought them one or two at a time on the secondary market online wherever I could find them after a Google search and it took a year to gather them all. I should have bought them the first time I saw them at HomeGoods several years ago!

I love the combination of blues and greens on these plates.

This charger was made by Mikasa and it was called Color Spectrum, the color was called Sage. I have had these chargers for a long time and I think this is the first time that I have used them on a tablescape.

I decided to add placemats to this table setting so that they would break up the busy tablecloth a bit.

I am using my Madeline Green flatware on this table setting. I bought it at World Market several years ago. I really like the frosted design on the handles. If you google frosted flatware and add the color you are looking for you will find similar sets. After red, I think green flatware is the most used flatware color on my tablescapes because it can be used during both the Spring and Fall seasons. I bought these Oli Succulent napkin rings at Crate and Barrel online two years ago. I didn’t have any baby blue napkins so I bought these on Amazon last week.

Hubby found these faux small succulents at Michael’s a couple of weeks ago. The blue and green colors are a perfect match for the plates. I really love these small white vase place card holders. They often appear on my Spring tablescapes. I bought them on Amazon a couple of years ago.

Hubby found the green glass goblet on the left at an estate sale last year. I joined estatesales.net and estatesales.org and I get emails every week that tell me what estate sales are going on in my area and it includes photos of everything that is for sale. I saw these green goblets for sale and he got them for me, he likes going to estate sales. The green acrylic goblets on the right came from our Pier 1 store before it closed a few years ago. I knew that I wanted a container of real succulents for a centerpiece for this tablescape and we found this one at our local garden center. I will be planting them in my succulent garden. I like the rustic metal container and you will probably see it on future tablescapes.

I planted about a third of our front garden with succulents as my contribution to the California drought a few years ago and I have really enjoyed it.

Time for an Easter Tablescape

I decided to repost this Easter tablescape that I did three years ago because it is a favorite of mine. I think I bought the tablecloth on Amazon and the purple place mats came from Juliska online several years ago. I bought the purple eggs on Etsy a few years ago. I really like the dark purple place mats against the green tablecloth.

I love these bunny and flowers plates. They were made by Fitz and Floyd and the pattern was called Halcyon. The pattern was produced from 2003 to 2004 and it has been discontinued although pieces are still available on the secondary market. I bought the plates a few at a time over the years on Ebay. I love the bunny’s big brown eyes and the plaid bow as well as the relief details on the flowers.

This lemon leaf charger was made by Bordallo Pinheiro but they have been discontinued. I bought them a few at a time on Ebay. This is a heavy charger. I have many plates that were produced in Portugal by Bordallo and the heavy relief details are always eye catching. I think that the purple goblets came from Pier 1 several years ago. I was so sad when they closed our local store, I was a good customer for many years. The green goblet was made by Noritake and is called Sweet Swirl in light green. These were made between 1985 and 2005. I bought them on Ebay a few at a time. The centerpiece bunny cookie jar was also part of the Fitz and Floyd Halcyon dish series and it matches the plates. I put it on a white plastic stand to add a bit more height. I can’t remember where I bought it.

I bought the green glass candlesticks on Ebay a few years ago. I needed some green ones and I was really pleased when these arrived. They are well made and a great color. I am not sure how old they are or who made them, they aren’t marked.

Don’t look too close! The candles are crooked but they were the perfect color and stores were closed when I did this tablescape.
