A Winter Tablescape

My daughter and I did a Winter tablescape similar to this one several years ago for a dinner party she was having. I tweaked it a bit for this version. I found the snowflake tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. You can just see the snowflake designs on the tablecloth in this photo.

I wanted a napkin fabric that had some movement to it for this tablescape and I found these dark gray napkins on Amazon a few years ago. Once they got here and I saw them, I ordered a couple tablecloths in different colors in the same fabric because I really like this fabric design. I can’t remember where I found the shiny snowflake napkin rings online a few years ago but a Google search will turn up several similar designs.

I found these simple white dinner plates at HomeGoods several years ago when I first started tablescaping. They are labeled Ralph Lauren Club Porcelain.

This white beaded charger came from Williams-Sonoma several years ago and the pattern is called Antique Beaded.

The shiny silver placemats probably came from Pier 1 several years ago. I like the way they reflect light.

This frosted flatware set is made by Vietri and the pattern is called Aladdin in gray. I bought it on sale at Bloomingdale's several years ago. I bought the same pattern in a few other colors because I really like the design.

I can’t remember where I found these silver snowflake place card holders but they are perfect for this tablescape. I found the snowflake place cards in my place cards drawer. I can’t remember where they came from.

On the left is a Waterford goblet but one of their less expensive patterns. I think it is called Waterford Marquis and the pattern is Markham. I bought them at HomeGoods a few years ago. I have a similar goblet in red (but the pattern is Brookside) and it is one of the most used goblets in my tablescaping collection. On the right is one of my wedding crystal goblets, a Waterford pattern called Lismore. Even after 50 years this goblet is still in style.

I found this crystal candelabra at a local consignment store a few years ago. It is really heavy. It had been mended so I got a really good price on it. There was a matching one that I bought as well. I bought the silver candles at Hobby Lobby a few years ago.

Hubby found these two cut glass salt and pepper sets at an Estate Sale a couple of years ago and I added them on each side of the candelabras.

I usually have more color on my tables but I like the combination of white, gray, glass, and silver on this tablescape.

A Polar Bear Winter Tablescape

My husband loves polar bears and he collected them for many years so when I started tablescaping I knew that a polar bear themed table was somewhere in my future. I did my first polar bear tablescape in 2017 and then another one a few years later but when I saw these small plates, I knew I would be doing another one. I found the charcoal tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago. It is a perfect match with the background on the polar bear plates. I can’t remember where I found the red felt snowflake placemats, I have had them for several years.

These skiing polar bear plates came from Crate and Barrel last year. I love the bold crisp design on these appetizer or tidbit sized plates.

The next plate down in the plate stack, a small white salad plate, is bone china and it was made by Wedgwood. The pattern was called Intaglio. I bought them at HomeGoods a few years ago.

This larger red salad plate came from Pottery Barn several years ago and the pattern was called Cambria.

This red Cambria charger or dinner plate matches the salad plate and it also came from Pottery Barn. I really like this plate and I use it often.

I like the larger size of this red snowflake placemat because it shows around the edges of the charger plates.

I bought this frosted white flatware on sale online at Wayfair a few years ago, it was made by Cambridge. It is 18/0 so the fork tines are a bit sharper than I would like but I really liked the frosted color. Wayfair has really good sales on flatware sometimes.

I’m not sure where the red and white plaid napkins came from but it was probably HomeGoods. I really like the thread design on them. I have had them for a few years. I found the wood polar bear napkin rings on Etsy a few years ago.

The polar bear place card holders came from Crate and Barrel a few years ago. The red place cards are from Amazon.

The red goblets are Waterford Marquis Brookside, I use them frequently on tablescapes. I found them at HomeGoods several years ago and snapped them up! These goblets are a bit taller than most and I like that. I finally found these white goblets at Walmart a few years ago after looking for white goblets for a long time. They were made by Artland and the pattern is called Veranda.

The centerpiece polar bear was one I gave Hubby at some point. I can’t remember where I found it. It is sitting on a white Pottery Barn drink dispenser stand. I have a few of these stands in different colors and I often use them to give centerpiece items more height. I added some red, white, and silver scatter that I found on Amazon.

I added a small Lladro polar bear from Hubby’s collection to the table to the left of the centerpiece.

Another bisque polar bear from Hubby’s collection is to the right of the centerpiece. It is marked Carren and it was designed by Roslyn S. Carren.

Not cold enough for polar bears but definitely winter here!

A Cozy Christmas Eve Tablescape

I love using buffalo print tablecloths sometimes. This black and red one came from Amazon a few years ago. I have one with larger squares but I wanted a smaller square design for this tablescape. I wanted a cozy feel for this tablescape.

I have been thinking about using these salad plates on a Christmas table for a few years but the colors are not true Christmas colors so I kept putting it off because I couldn’t figure out what colors should be on the plate stack. I finally gave in this year and went with black and red, not my first choices for Christmas colors together. I bought these salad plates at HomeGoods and Ebay a few years ago. They are labeled Royal Stafford, Made in Burslem the Heart of Potteries, England. I love the cozy house in the snow with lighted windows.

I am using our everyday Fiesta Scarlet dinner plates on this tablescape. I have this dinner plate in several different basic colors now.

I could not get rid of the light reflection on the chargers in this photo and I finally gave up. These black glass Starburst chargers are called Charge It and they were made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes.

These black and red buffalo print flannel napkins are a pretty good match with this polyester tablecloth with squares that are just a bit smaller. They probably came from HomeGoods or Amazon. The black and white Merry napkin rings came from Kirkland’s online a few years ago. There are four different font designs that say merry on this set of napkin rings. The black glass goblet on the left with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online several years ago. I bought the black black glass goblets on the right on Ebay and they were one of the first sets that I bought several years ago. They are Lenox Midnight Mood black glass water goblets and they were made between 1974 and 1982. They are 7 1/4 inches tall. When I started buying goblets I didn’t pay attention to the height but now I like to buy goblets that are at least about 8 inches tall because my table is large and I think they show better. Ebay has them for sale from time to time. I found this wonderful Santa Claus at Smith’s in Salt Lake City a few years ago. He has a red velvet coat and a hat trimmed with faux fur and I love his plaid vest.

I set a red Luminara candle on a Pottery Barn bronze Booker Pillar Candleholder and I put one on each side of the Santa. I bought them several years ago when I started tablescaping. I added a bit of garland and red berries that I found at Joann’s today.

During some Christmases this Santa sits on the sofa table in the living room.

This tablescape reminds me of our mountain cabin.

Christmas Trees on a Christmas Tablescape

I have been thinking about a Christmas Tree Tablescape for a while. This red gingham tablecloth is one of my favorites. It is heavy cotton and I bought it at Sur La Table several years ago. This is another red and green color combination tablescape, my favorite colors for Christmas.

These Christmas Tree salad plates came from World Market a few years ago. I really like the tree design with all the different colored ornaments and the string of lights around the edge of the plate.

I am using our everyday Fiesta Scarlet dinner plates again on this tablescape. I seem to choose them often for Christmas tablescapes.

These chargers were made by Mikasa and the pattern was Color Spectrum, this charger in Hunter Green. I have several different colors of this charger and I really love the size, design and shape. They were all discontinued but I bought them all on Ebay a few at a time over the years.

This flatware is made by D & D Inox in Italy and the pattern is called Roma. I bought them at Neiman Marcus or Bloomingdales during a major sale several years ago. There are similar patterns available online now. I really like the marbleized design on the handles.

The pine and candy cane Christmas napkins probably came from HomeGoods, they were designed and signed by Vera. Vera Neumann designed many fabrics for home use for many years in the 1960’s and 1970’s and her work is being reproduced now. Some people collect her older designs. I think I bought the red wood napkin rings on Ebay a few years ago. I am always looking for simple napkin rings in basic primary colors.

These mercury glass green tree place card holders came from Pier 1 online a few years ago. They are actually heavier than I thought they would be. The red place cards came from Amazon a few years ago.

The green glass goblet on the right comes from The Vermont Country Store online. It is made by Mosser in the U.S. and the pattern is Georgia. They are really heavy glass and very good quality. I have bought a few of them at a time over the years. I also have them in cobalt blue. I used my red Waterford Marquis Brookside goblets for this table setting. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago. Hubby and I were there and I suddenly saw a few and quickly found twelve and bought them all. I sometimes buy some dishes and glassware in sets of 12 since there are 12 of us now when the family is all together. If you read the tablescapes section of my blog you have seen these red goblets on several tablescapes.

This Christmas Tree cookie jar came from PIer 1 online a couple of years ago. I put it on a red drink dispenser stand from Pottery Barn to give it a bit more height. Just for fun I looked through my vintage Christmas hankie collection and I found a Christmas hankie with Christmas trees on it and they are a pretty good match for the Christmas trees on the salad plates. I added some small plastic red and green Christmas tree scatter that Hubby found for me at Hobby Lobby today.

I added these red glass trees to the table to break up the red gingham tablecloth a bit. I found three of them at HomeGoods a few years ago. They are actually ornaments because they have a loop at the top but they would need a really big tree! I borrowed them from my Christmas mantel display for this tablescape.

Red and green together always says Christmas to me.
