A Tablescape for Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

How I love this turkey tureen centerpiece. He comes out early in November usually and stays around until Christmas goes up. I looked for a turkey tureen to use as a centerpiece for a long time and finally found this one several years ago. It was made by Spode and it was part of their Harvest Collection. I can’t remember where I found it. The sage green tablecloth probably came from Amazon, I have had it for a while. I found the sage green crochet doily placemats at Bed, Bath, & Beyond several years ago. I wish they had come in other colors too because I really like the ruffled edge and the way they set off whatever is on top of them. Some say that you shouldn’t use a placemat with a tablecloth but I do it anyway sometimes!

I found this Plymouth Turkey coupe bowl online a few years ago at Pfaltzgraff on sale. I really like the colors and the raised details on it.

This dinner plate came from Pier 1 several years ago before our store closed. It was part of their Spice Route collection and the color was called Clove. I use this plate often in the fall. I like the beaded design on the rim.

I found these orange distressed pumpkin chargers at Pier 1 several years ago before our store closed. I really like this shade of orange for fall tablescapes.

This frosted green flatware is Madeline Green flatware and I bought it at World Market several years ago. I use this flatware often this time of year.

These bright plaid napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1. I have had them for a few years. I love using them during the Fall season. The Manor Luxe Gobble Turkey brass metal napkin rings came from Amazon several years ago.

I found these resin turkey place card holders on Ebay a few years ago.

The amber goblet on the left came from Pier 1 on sale right before our store closed. I love how tall they are. The green acrylic goblet on the right is a good match for a fall table and it came from our Pier 1 store before it closed too.

I love this turkey! He has such a presence!

The salt and pepper sets probably came from Amazon or HomeGoods a few years ago.

Buffalo Check on a Fall Tablescape

I love using buffalo checks on tablescapes. I found this black and white buffalo check tablecloth on Amazon a few years ago. It is heavy cotton and it is really easy to iron with a steam iron. I found the other matching buffalo check items by accident in various places and it all came together.

These small flannel fabric pumpkins came from Amazon a few years ago. They were the perfect addition to this plate stack.

This small black plate is not marked, I am not sure where I bought them. I have had them for several years. They are just slightly larger than another small black plate I have that I have been using on some of my Halloween tablescapes.

I found this melamine black and white buffalo check salad plate while wandering around Hobby Lobby a few years ago. I bought six and now I wish I had bought more.

I bought these black scalloped dinner plates at Grandin Road online several years ago. I like the beaded rim design.

I have had these black placemats for several years, they probably came from our Pier 1 store before it closed.

These black house shaped napkin rings came from Amazon several years ago. They were tin and Hubby painted them black for me. A few years ago Micahel’s had a similar house design and also a barn and I bought some of both of those to use in various colors on future tablescapes. I can’t remember where I found these flannel black and white buffalo checked napkins, I have had them for a while. Sometimes I like to mix the same larger and smaller fabric patterns together for contrast. To read about the What, Where and How of napkin rings please click here.

Here is my black stainless flatware set made by Ginkgo International LePrix again. If you read my blog you have seen it before on my tablescapes. I have had it for years, I’m not sure where I bought it. You can still find it for sale online. It gets a lot of use this time of year. I have this set in several other colors now. I bought these black house place card holders on Ebay a couple of years ago. I think they were made by Hearth and Hand Accents with Magnolia originally. I have seen them on Ebay a few times. To read about the What, Where and When of place card holders, please click here.

I like to use these black and clear goblets together because they complement each other. The goblet on the left with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online sveral years ago. The clear fluted goblet with the black stem on the right is called Octime and the manufacturer was Luminarc Arcoroc. They were made in the 1980’s. I bought them on Ebay. This black and white buffalo check pumpkin centerpiece came from a Southern California gift shop. There were three pumpkins in the set and this was the largest one. I knew it would be perfect for this table as soon as I saw it. It is sitting on a black stand that I bought online at Grandin Road several years ago. There were three stands in a set, each a different height, and I knew I could use them to add height to my tablescape centerpieces.

These black glass candlesticks came from Leti Curated Home Decor online a few years ago. I bought them in orange too and you will probably see those next Halloween. I bought them in clear glass as well a few years ago but I can’t remember where.

I was ready for a tablescape that wasn’t black and orange!

I wanted to add something here. I have done several tablescapes with only two colors and every time I do one I get unsolicited negative comments from a few people telling me how I should have added another color. The point is, I didn’t want another color on the table. The rule of thumb for tablescaping, if you don’t like it, scroll on, and don’t offer suggestions unless asked. I have to say it is satisfying to delete the nasty comment and block the person from ever seeing a tablescape of mine again!

Spiders on a Halloween Tablescape

This is a Halloween tablescape that I created a few years ago but I did it all in black and white then. I decided to add orange to this one. I bought the orange tablecloth several years ago and it was probably from HomeGoods. I bought the black spider web overlay several years ago too, I can’t remember where. I am not a fan of spiders and I have an on-going battle with black widow spiders on our back patio but spraying the area with peppermint oil mixed with water drives them away if I do it on a regular basis. They hate it.

I found the black and white spider appetizer plates at Pottery Barn a few years ago. There were four different designs in the set.

These black plates are smaller than most of the salad plates I have used on my tablescapes. They are called tidbit plates or appetizer plates. These plates were made by 10 Strawberry Street and the pattern was called Classic Black Porcelain. I bought the plates at HomeGoods several years ago.

I love this orange dinner plate, the vivid orange color, the ruffles on the lip, and the heavy melamine design all make it a perfect plate for Halloween. I bought them several years ago online at Dillards.com and they were called Summer Oasis Zoie Vintage Dinner Plate. If you read my blog you have seen them on other Halloween Tablescapes this season.

These black glass Starburst chargers are called Charge It and they were made by Jay. I bought them several years ago on Amazon. They are heavy glass and work well with many different color schemes. They are often in use during Halloween season.

These black and white placemats came from Pier 1 several years ago.

This black stainless flatware set is Ginkgo International LePrix. I have had it for years, I’m not sure where I bought it. You can still find it for sale online. It gets a lot of use this time of year.

I found the Anphsin black rhinestone spider napkin rings on Ebay. The orange spider web napkins were custom made for me by someone on Etsy. I love this napkin and napkin ring set.

I have had these black spider web place card holders for several years, I bought them at Williams Sonoma. I found the orange place cards on Amazon.

The orange goblets on the left were some of the first goblets I bought many years ago, I think I bought them at Ross or T.J. Maxx. I remember thinking that I would probably not use them very much but I sure do this time of year. Just fyi, in the spring and summer dollar stores often sell plastic goblets like this design in bright colors. You will probably see these goblets again this Halloween season! The goblet on the right with the black bowl and clear stem was made by Classic Touch and it is called V-Shaped Water Glass, Black With Clear Stem. I bought them at Houzz online a couple of years ago. I really like the different shape of this goblet.

The large and two smaller black metal spiders came from Olive and Cocoa online a few years ago. They are the perfect size for use on a tablescape.

I love those long spindly black spider legs!

Haunted Houses on a Halloween Tablescape

I found this tablecloth at HomeGoods a few years ago. They also had it with black as the dominant plaid color and I bought that one too. You have seen my Halloween tablescapes with lots of black and orange. If you read my blog and look at the different Halloween Tablescapes you can see how I use some of the same pieces over and over again with different tablecloths and other elements to make different table settings. When I started tablescaping years ago I knew that Halloween would be a major tablescaping holiday for me so I started collecting the basics; black and orange dinner plates, black and orange goblets, black flatware, etc. so I would always have the basics to start with on a Halloween table.

I found this Haunted House appetizer or tidbit plate several years ago on Ebay. It was part of a set of four plates made by 222 Fifth (PTS) starting in 2012 and the series was called Wiccan Lace. This series also included a witch, a skull, and a cat. You ca see a couple of them on other Halloween tablescapes that I have done.

The next plate down in the plate stack is a simple black porcelain plate made by 10 Strawberry Street and called Classic Black Porcelain. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago.

This white salad plate was made by Wedgwood and the pattern was called Intaglio. I like the designs on the lip of the plate. I bought them at HomeGoods several years ago.

I love this orange dinner plate, the vivid orange color, the ruffles on the lip, and the heavy melamine design all make it a perfect plate for Halloween. I bought them several years ago online at Dillards.com and they were called Summer Oasis Zoie Vintage Dinner Plate. If I could only save a few dinner plates from my collection for tablescaping, this plate would be one of them.

These bright orange napkins probably came from HomeGoods or Pier 1 several years ago. Someone on Etsy made the black metal haunted house napkin rings for me. I love metal napkin rings because they won’t break and they will last for a long time.

I found this haunted house lantern at Roger’s Gardens in Corona Del Mar, California a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be a perfect centerpiece for a Halloween tablescape. I love the design and you can put a battery candle inside.

I love this black and orange plaid tablecloth, no neutrals for me!
